Even better. People usually fall into their favorite sportsball team during their youth and stick with that team. Assuming their squad isn't local, it's usually due to how well the team is playing during that time. So you can be a bandwagonner at one point, but become a normal fan if you stick with them well after their run. What makes it funny for the Ralphamale is that Bama was hot garbage in his youth. From the 90s to the early-to-mid 2000s, Bama was Vanderbilt-tier at football. That along with no connection to an out-of-state team means there is no way piggy was a fan of Alabama growing up.

Ofc, once Saban turned the program into a championship machine, Ralph became #1 sports fan. Now that would only minimally raise the eyebrows if it didn't happen to be the case for every. single. sport.
