You know what's most important is what people talk about the next day. That's all that matters. All people talked about the next day about the Presidential debate was how the moderators sucked, completely stealing away any victory Kamala may or may not have had. Which is terrible for her. Meanwhile, for the VP debate, all anyone can talk about is how it was a better debate, and "I've become friends with school shooters". Which isn't good for Democrats. These debates have done nothing for Kamala or Walz. It was a complete exercise in futility.Yeah, also Trump allowed himself to get fact checked, which isn't a good look. I was shocked when Vance challenged the mods for pulling that shit, and they actually kept his mic on long enough to get his point out.
This is why JD is so good, I'm pretty new to liking Trump and my criticism is always that I just wish he could explain things better because he's right about a lot of things but is a terrible messenger. JD pointed out that the moderators lied about not doing "fact checking" then barrelled through his reply to make sure people heard the truth. Trump would have called them nasty women and said he never should have agreed to be there and the moderators's lie would have stood.Yeah, also Trump allowed himself to get fact checked, which isn't a good look. Like you said, Vance came out of this looking presidential, and Walz came out of this looking kind. Now as for who won? I'm partisan, but I think this was a solid Republican W. The Dems were expecting Vance to be an uncharismatic mess, and were banking on Walz taking JD to task in the wise old man "Look here son, let me school you" kind of way, which did not happen. The hope for Dems was that JD was going to come off as a weird, unrelatable stiff and that the contrast of Walz being the kind old wise man would bring over some independents who were concerned about Trump/Kamala's personalities and wanted an adult in the room.Feel free to UHM ACKSHULLY me when I'm wrong, I do that shit to other people all the time.
As for the debate: watch the whole thing. It's so worth it. Vance was presidential. I actually ended up liking Tim Walz because he was genuinely polite and nice to Vance - as was Vance to Walz, which is a really nice thing to see nowadays when everyone hates each other so much. Vance reserved his derision for the moderators, who deserved it.
I had to clock out before the debate concluded. Was there any great salt mining?
I've always liked Trump just because he's funny, but what you pointed out is exactly the issue a lot of people even on Trump's side have, and it's that he doesn't drive points home in a "political" way that make a strong argument for people not already on his side. Vance was polite, likable, and was on the ball answer for answer, even on the abortion issue which has always been a huge losing issue both optically and policy-wise. I think the biggest thing he brought to the table is that if someone were to say "I just hate Trump-Vance" a reasonable response would be "What's wrong with Vance?" and they'd actually have to say something other than "He's an idiot and an asshole".This is why JD is so good, I'm pretty new to liking Trump and my criticism is always that I just wish he could explain things better because he's right about a lot of things but is a terrible messenger. Yup. They know it’s not a sure thing. Likely a loss. Was there anyone else lining up for the job? There was that one jew, but he got ruled out because of is IDF connections. No one with an actual political future wanted to touch Kamala's campaign.
Nooo Stalker child, it is you who will be getting twenty trillion HaitiansVance crying about being checked on his bullshit is totally going to secure Trump the win this time!
I expected Walz to be catty, but he came across to me as a nice dude. Sweaty and fidgety, but not evil. I'm sure there are skeletons in his closet with respect to China, but we'll see what happens there.Like you said, Vance came out of this looking presidential, and Walz came out of this looking kind. hi, hello. you seem to be having a senior moment where your memory has become that of a goldfish. here is something to jog your memory on Minnesota's leadership under kind old man WalzWalz ... Sweaty and fidgety, but not evil.
Maybe that's Walz's strength but don't let that distract you from the fact he's a duplicitous snake of a man. He still name dropped Amber Thurman, spouting media lies about her story. He still had the gall to insist that healthy people should be paying the most into healthcare as of it were a socialist system. He still went out of his way to bring up January 6th thinking he would catch Vance in a gotcha moment, and Vance just smiled because he knew it was coming. It doesn't change the fact he openly lied about things he did in Minnesota. If anything, he's a good actor and little else. It's hard to give him compliments when there's no substance behind the things he says and I KNOW he's lying.I expected Walz to be catty, but he came across to me as a nice dude. Sweaty and fidgety, but not evil. I'm sure there are skeletons in his closet with respect to China, but we'll see what happens there.
When Vance extended condolences to Walz, especially regarding his son witnessing a shooting, Walz took it and did not attempt to turn it around in any way. This was kind of a big deal to me because that takes serious guts. A humble person will take well wishes from a rival, acknowledge it, and take it for what it is. A lesser man would have taken that and turned it into a "Republicans pounce" point in the debate, but Walz did not do that.
If there was an iota of success for the Dems in that debate, it seems to be that they've conned a lot of people into not seeing the devil plainly in front of them.I expected Walz to be catty, but he came across to me as a nice dude. Sweaty and fidgety, but not evil. I'm sure there are skeletons in his closet with respect to China, but we'll see what happens there.
If BPGoonergate didn't tell you autists that old fat women have a weird relationship with wanting to rape someone, wanting to fuck someone, and projection. I don't know what else to tell you A&Niggers.I’m starting to think poll groups only use Reddit and furry boards to get post debate polls.
“WALZ IS ACTULLY UP AND AMERICA THINKS VANCE SMIRK MEANS HE RAPED SOMEONE.” -Poll consisting of two fat white ladies on Reddit who are mentally handicapped with brain hole.
Biden and Obama for Trump?! Incredible
its supposed to be an attack on your principles. it'd work if we were mccainite cuckservative instead of MAGA populists.this is also the profile of every single democrat in washington so i'm willing to declare this a wash in Vance vs the competition
There is an accidental but really appropiate quote during the debate from Walz that was outshined by the school shooter line.I expected Walz to be catty, but he came across to me as a nice dude. Sweaty and fidgety, but not evil. I'm sure there are skeletons in his closet with respect to China, but we'll see what happens there.
I do believe him when he says this, he is a retard that only does what he is told. When he goes off script or does something on his own accord, you get lines like the ones tonight, lines like the ones Kamala also gives when she goes off script."I'm a knucklehead, I make mistakes, that's why I was appointed into Congress!".
I am an accelerationist fuck you.its supposed to be an attack on your principles. it'd work if we were mccainite cuckservative instead of MAGA populists.
No, fuck you! Goodness will win, motherfucker! Everything is gonna be okay, motherfucker! Fuck you!I am an accelerationist fuck you.
I'm envious that you get to watch it for the first time. It truly feels like debate is back, baby!!Well I'm only a third of the way through but what I've observed now is that both VP candidates are more able to speak coherently than their actual presidential candidates.
Trump isn't a terribly well-read or analytical guy, but he has a gut-level, intuitive perceptiveness that makes him successful. He knows how to size up a person or a crowd and he knows when it's the right moment to attack.Trump's biggest strength can also be his biggest weakness, especially on the debate stage.
For example, Trump's debate with Kamala: Trump took the crowd size bait when he shouldn't have ... But then, later in the debate, he stole the "I'm speaking" moment away from Kamala, which was amazing lol. Trump's "bull in a china shop" approach to debating has successfully thrown well-seasoned politicians off their game in a big bad way (especially during the Republican Primaries of 2016), but there are moments where he falls into a trap where he shouldn't. Trump's personality also helped him in his debate against Biden this past Summer-- "I don't know what he just said, and I don't think he knows either" sealed Biden's fate.
I think that Trump won the debate against Kamala, don't get me wrong ... But I don't think it was this flawless victory, especially with the terrible moderators and the fact that there was no audience.
Trump's personality also excels when it comes to Town Halls, moreso than debates. Even when he calls the moderators "Nasty Women," he is still able to reign it in when needed.
Vance did everything he needed to last night AND more. It made me excited to vote for him in 2028, and it made me feel very secure about Trump's VP pick.
