Operation Black Mesa was being worked on by a team of about 15 people (Black Mesa had 20+ IIRC) and they weren't just working on one game but two (they were also developing a Blue Shift remake called Guard Duty alongside OBM). Anyway it turns out there's been some major drama behind the scenes where one of the core developers (and apparently one of the people who basically carried the project) turned out to be too based for the rest of the faggots on his team and the lead developer's refusal to permanently remove him but instead just suspend him for a couple of months led to like 11 people quitting. So now there's like 4 people left on the team which probably isn't gonna help things move along any faster.Operation Black Mesa is pretty much the Half Life 3 of mods, it's been in development hell since 2010 or so, and I'd imagine that Black Mesa coming out in 2012 didn't help.
Pretty understandable tbh.A shame because I vastly preferred what I saw of Tripmine Studios' work over that of Crowbar Collective. Unlike the latter, they actually seemed to be trying to be as faithful as possible to the original GoldSrc games.
Finally a video that isnt more slop for once.
I just personally agree with the point of the fact that pyrocynical sucks lol, hes not exempt from criticism himself considering the only popularity he has ever amassed is from laziness himself, even self admitting in the video that he didnt want to release it and the video was from over 6 months ago. If he just stuck to making cool fact files like marphy black and not getting in niche internet drama his channel/legacy would have aged better.Guy sounds like an annoying, patronizing arsehole full of himself.
Entropy Zero 1&2 are .... well, typical mods. EZ1 has the complete feeling and jank of a single person work. EZ2 is deeply "typical modder" territory with a lot of stuff that can be criticized freely (hey, Wilson is completely corny but I still like him). Janky models and voice work? Fanfiction-tier story? Welcome to modding.
That video is a guy very, very angry that the wrong people are having fun and nitpicking endlessly something that is incredibly easy to nitpick. Congrats, here your participation award. Also, Valve will never do another traditional Half Life game so saying "we're going to influence negatively Valve!" is beyond retarded.
Agree. A lot of the criticisms were on stuff people playing a mod wouldn't care that much about. Most people playing a mod expect some general jank like weird texturing, awkward use of models, etc. A lot of his points are stuff the creators should improve on (the repeated pointing out of badly placed hand-rails was pretty funny), but they are soured by how full of himself he sounds.Guy sounds like an annoying, patronizing arsehole full of himself.

Maybe his points would be better served by not being an asshat and starting with decent criticism instead of haphazard nitpicking.
I liked this guys videos where he covers weird and obscure bugs in HL2, but wow he comes off as a bitter arsehole here. Making Cinema Sins-tier criticisms about a mod. His idea that Valve might put less effort into a future Half Life 3 just because some retards have gone a bit overboard by describing the mod as equivalent to Valve's quality is also stupid. Valve, despite their problems, has a pretty good track record of delivering quality over just giving into what some lazy and brief market research might determine is in demand. Finally a video that isnt more slop for once.
Only thing i didn't like in EZ2 was the vehicle section. EP2 wasn't as bad as that was.Guy sounds like an annoying, patronizing arsehole full of himself.

Have the datamining autists found anything concrete yet on what the anniversary might bring? Or is it purely down to speculation at this point? I can't imagine there will be an update similar to what HL1 got for it's anniversary since HL2 has aged much better technically.valve is getting ready for the Half Life 2 anniversary, I know steamdb isnt exactly reliable but on steam itself it says half life 2 got an update november last year, I do check steamdb on HL2 and its been updated regularly since september.

Word is that Filip Victor of the HL2: Update fame was working on a new project, Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection (SteamDB), Valve picked up the project and that's what they're preparing for the anniversary. Or at the very least that's what I got from the rumor mill so don't quote me on that.Have the datamining autists found anything concrete yet on what the anniversary might bring? This is most likely the case, if you check steamdb on regular more half life 2 legacy requirements have been removed it seems.Word is that Filip Victor of the HL2: Update fame was working on a new project, Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection (SteamDB), Valve picked up the project and that's what they're preparing for the anniversary.
