If Chris wrote the description, that's probably right. If it was Barb, it's more likely she's trying to make the item sound more worthy of her ridiculous asking price.

The manufacturer does in fact bill it as a "lawn tractor".

That is technically the correct term for it. Bear in mind these riding mowers often come with a tow hitch so you can drag a small wagon behind you. Useful for shit like firewood or mulch if you're too poor to afford one of those heavy duty ATVs. But it's still a fucking lawn mower and anyone who buys one will call it that.

This was my first guess; Chris isn't trying to tell us it's a tractor to bamboozle us. He's telling us it's a tractor because the manufacturer label bills it as one and his autistic mind doesn't understand absolutely no one ever calls it anything other than a lawn mower.

Yes that is a tractor. I have heard riding lawn mowers referred to as tractors before, usually by people who don't have or never had one. But what Chris has is just a lawn mower. Tractors are what farmers use to plow or sow fields. Not cut grass.

You're right, but mowers serve multipurpose functions when living out in the country, aside from just mowing. Some are used for towing and for pulling out tree stumps and you can even attach a rototiller to the back of them to, essentially, get the same result as the one in the picture but in a smaller area. Basically, mowers do the some of the same functions as the tractors at a fraction of the price, hence why people call them tractors.
