The Manhunt I know is was a game by Rockstar, where you play as James Earl Cash - someone who was on deathrow. Then given a "new chance" in life by a Lionel Starkweather, a former Vinewood-analogue director who turned into producing snuff films from the safety of his estate. Cash has to fight to his safety and earn a new life from the dangerous streets of Carcer City (analogue to Flint, MI & Camden, NJ), riddled with gangs and corrupt police force headded by Gary Schaeffer.
Then there's the sequel, which has Daniel Lamb being MK-Ultra'd into having an alternate persona of a killer (Leo Kasper) into his mind, who murders his wife, and forgets all he did. And has to battle to get his freedom.
This "Manhunt" plot of troons suck, compared to Rockstar's.
