Furry Fandom and Drama General

I read Chaucher's Parliament of Fowls in college, which is indeed a late medieval poem about anthropomorphic animals. I haven't read it since, so I could be wrong, but I don't remember the part where they all do drugs and buttfuck each other. Maybe that was the subtext, though. What do I know? I'm not a college professor.

And this fuck gets authorized in a very specific field of the subject, one that I would love to sit with a competent professor. The concept of anthropomorphism stretches back through most of human story telling, from crazy ass half human monsters in Irish folklore all the way back to half-human bulls fucking bitches in cave paintings. Lots of data, no organized field of study. Sounds amazing.

Nah, here's your 6 credit course in fursuit gooning. Goddamn it.
Call me schizophrenic but I honestly wonder what connections it took to score himself this because it seems a little too good to be true for his case, doesn't it?. Maybe he even had to suck a dick or two to make it happen. I find all nepotism distasteful of course but something pisses me off more about furry nepotism in particular. Especially when it's used to prop up walking wastes of opportunity like him.

Just looking at the initial post here, I didn't see his credentials anywhere. If you've got the chops for high end subjects and can prove it, I could see literally any non-research college agreeing to let you list any version of that subject you want. It's basically free money at that point.

After a furry came out in support of Harris on X to the shock of no one, another one quote replied a couple days later that he supports Trump as president instead.

Since the community consists of lefties, this ruffled some feathers. Here's only some of the flames.

Cue the cancelling involving the GSFTW con. Arctico responded and, despite being named on the staff list as the IT lead, he denied having people's private information, or that he helped or even attended the GSFTW con since he needed surgery the week before.

Admitting to liking, no, even being neutral about Donald Trump is ostracization-worthy from furrydom. It's heresy to the likes of the Imperium in Warhammer 40K.

A fuckin' shame too, considering the furry fandom would find their basic quality of life taking a nosedive into third-world status under 4 years more of Kamala. Where will all your precious furry conventions be when everyone and your mother suddenly can't afford food or rent because it's quintupled under Comrade Kackles' new price controls, you coombrained dipshits? At least under Trump, you're maybe losing a few "privileges" while you have your finances corrected to where they were pre-COVID. Hell, I highly doubt he'd deign to lay a finger on their actual rights. (Note: I say privileges, because that's what LGBT is in this day and age - very overprivileged.)

Pick your poison carefully, degens.

They can't do what's good for them. Degeneracy thrives under milquetoast "conservatism" as long as it flies under the radar. The fandom went, ahem, buck wild under Bush. But, and this is unfortunate, most of them have been burned by conservative rhetoric or live in hyperliberal hellscapes and know nothing else.

Reynard the Fox raped an enemy's wife then called her fat.

This is way funnier when you realize that the person writing this text wall to "cancel" one of their staff is the same person who okayed reporters from Fox News to come into the GSFTW convention back in May, ask furries what they thought about Trump, and broadcast their interviews on national tv. Yes that actually happened.

Original video

So, just to be clear: Willingly letting Fox News into your convention to talk with furries about their politics? A-okay! But one of your staff members publicly supporting Trump? Better try your hardest to cancel them and use the convention's Twitter account to put them on full blast.

EDIT: It's also funny to see that this entire incident did absolutely nothing to hurt the guy's online following. If his SocialBlade is anything to go by, he actually gained over 700 followers since his Trump tweet blew up on the 9th.

I love how furries cannot have enough self-control to avoid immediately trying to smugly "dunk" on this guy, giving him even more free attention in the process.

Woah, talk about kicking the hornet's nest. Though, as far as NJ politics goes, it tends to be a very conservative south, and economically poor vs liberal north divide, and rich counties.

As far as Artico goes, they're in PA which is tending to swing harder to conservative this time around it seems.

Funny thing I was thinking - the real thing is, furries should not be involved in politics. Maybe you, reading this comment will instantly go "of course, yeah!", what I mean to say is slightly deeper than that:
Think about this: fursuiters as an idea are no different than mascots of fantasy/varsity teams (most with... degenerate side to them) and they are sadly attempting to become part of the alphabet soup in order to receive "rights" (but never willing to understand that rights come with responsibilities). Thus, they are not seen as anything serious.

I mean, consider the most inoffensive anthropomorphic creature imaginable, and I'm not talking about the amount of faggots in the fandom. A female rabbit that somehow is owned by a natal woman. Not sexualized, just something for a general audience. Even then, people will look at it at "aww, how cute, something for children to be entertained with" at best. Another example is someone who draws anthropomorphic women of varieties but not sexualized in a way - at best you'll just see it as "okay, sure" - whatever. Yet what is annoying is how the overall scene/fandom is viewed. Tainting what could be seen as probably something for people to enjoy.

And don't get me started on people who think they know more than others (midwits). This isn't exclusive of the furries, it's a rotting status of our society at large.

More than anything, this shows the tragedy of everyone being on social media for everything, I know people did but people really shouldn't be discussing politics on the same site they post about gay blue wolves while using the same username as your alter ego that you want to have gay sex with dragons as.

It's a common thing on furry Twitter. They vent, graphically discuss how much they want to kill themselves/others, or ramble about the evil conservatives/right-wingers on the same account where they're posting hyper fart porn or some junk. No self-awareness they say. It's why I despise any artist who slams politics in the same account where they're meant to post art. I know, it's their account and can do whatever, but 90-95% of the people follow you because they want to see your art, not your political schizo rambles. But Twitter encourages this, unfortunately. You get more flak for your media tab being more of filler and random pics and memes that bloat over your art than for talking about the evil nazi right-wingers for the umpteenth time.

I’ve said it before, and I'll repeat it (because this applies broadly and not just to furries): One of the biggest mistakes anyone with an online following can make is politicizing their content for any reason.

It doesn’t matter if you lean left, right, or somewhere in between—once you draw a firm line and say "I support x, but y can piss off", you risk alienating a large portion of your current audience. And if your views or opinions later change for any reason, you may find that those remaining people who once supported you will quickly turn against you as well.

You just described someone who I noticed recently: ScorpDK. She(?) draws rather safe/showing cleavage/swimsuits and anthroes in a rather interesting way without really being disgusting - yet uses her twitter to namecall people. The latest thing was saying how she thought people were on the internet saying "Hurricane Milton was a HAARP thing" and they "Missed the ticket to the mental asylum". What called my attention is that she's Venezuelan and... rather amusingly seems to be aligned with namecalling people who are "conservatives". Figures - I guess not every Cuban and Venezuelan is "vaxxed" against being a shitlib.

So, Kamala will stop the furry conventions, and Trump will make me go back to being poor and take away my house?

When it comes to furry art, especially furry porn, a lot of people are willing to overlook politics if the art is good (or "good" in coomer standards). Off the top of my head, Jay Naylor is an obnoxious Ayn Rand worshipper, but still made money off his porn for decades. His comics are full of politics sperging, but his FA gallery and Twitter is straight to the point, so he still has 73.6K followers that can ignore his views. Pre-2020, I followed an equal amount of artist who were left and right-leaning, because they were lowkey about it or kept it on a private account. Now, artists love shooting themselves in the foot by virtue signaling instead of just taking the commissioner money. It's hard for me to have any sympathy when they say "X fuck off! This is a safe space for Y!" and then complain about losing followers.

I like watching weird South American politics I don't understand. Like, being a fascist is good if it's a communist country and even the commies can't agree because they live in corrupt shit holes. Helicopter hypercaptilism seems about as common as porn set in a post-1984 universe.

With furry "musicians," the bar is so low it's at the core of the Earth. Most are talentless and make unlistenable trash or mediocre to the point where their retarded behaviour surpasses it in notoriety. The most successful furry musicians are probably Renard Queenston/Emma Essex and Will Toledo from Car Seat Headrest. Renard raped someone in her sleep and still has a successful career in making trash rave music and Toledo is a diaper troon chaser who made an album about his relationship with babyfur troon Cate Wurtz and most of the music critics who praised it have no idea. Toledo also is mates with 4lung (archive) and Michelle/Matt Perez of The Pervert fame and wrote a glowing review that read like obnoxious wank.

He's probably not worthy of a thread but he's been funny to me for ages. Recently he announced his new fatfur fursona (archive) who is a dog farmer with his glasses named Hamilton. It's funny when you look at it side by side with his skinny faggot irl self. The drawing of the fursona was done by Rabbitpatches/Tubbypubby who is a fat fetish artist that's friends with Samael the Butterdragon. When will Toledo start indulging thousands of dollars into deathfat art of his new fursona on a motorized scooter with oxygen tubes up his nose at Walmart?
have y'all mentioned pent up pup?

to put it simply he's notorious for making shitty, oversexualized songs, one of his most notable being "knot song".
despite being widely known for making a song about animal dicks, he's still loved by a ton of furries, musicians, etc. having 7k+ followers on twitter, and being seen as an "idol for queer music".
