Mr. Cow might be the most petty faggot in the cartoon review community. I think I found Mr Enter long-lost more autistic stroke victim's brother. He is a BoJack Horseman fan that's got mad that people are now pointing out the cartoon was plagiarized from the pilot made by the Duckman people. He justified BoJack Horseman ripping off the concept of a has-bin horse actor by saying the characters in the Klasky Csupo pilot were racist and transphobic! Despite him confusing Italian American and Mexican maid stereotypes with Jewish stereotypes.

To be fair The Amazing World of Gumball had all kinds of different nonsensical animation styles on purpose and the character design for Gumball's family changed a bit throughout the seasons, so I wouldn't call it a prime example of CalArts globohomo artstyle (because it's just one of the many styles present in the show).

If anything, that's just the image that gets passed around. There was an expanded version of the image that appeared in one of EZ PZ's videos, but I couldn't find it.

I was never into Gumball but what little I saw always had varied animation style of characters

Yeah. It has 2D, 3D, puppets (both real and digital), clay animation, live action and so on. That's just the regular stuff, they also have special episodes and moments where they go further.

The animation is honestly impressive. I especially enjoy the little stuff that most people pay little attention to like use of lighting on 2D characters and mostly realistic backgrounds. The main characters are by large are simple because the high amount of stuff going on and being able to change for whatever needed for a joke. Expressiveness, variety and humor are clearly the high priorities Gumball had and CarlAlts was just one aspect that was present but not whole story.

Also the animation was done fast. Not South Park fast but way shorter time frame than most tv animation and you can't tell.
