Literally the only reason why the Samsung s20 wasn't as crappy as the previous generation was because the Huewai slapped it around in quality. Even now their phones are far superior to American designed crap and their popularity freaked Apple and Google out so much they had to revoke their Google Play access.

I hate how every streaming box 100 dollars and under are utterly advert-laden shit. Unless you shell out for an Nvidia Shield Pro or an Apple TV, the default interfaces of these things will bombard you with ads to the point of making the devices barely functional. Google TV, Fire TV, Roku, it's all the same. Fire TV and Roku in particular have tried to kill any and all custom features. Roku no longer has channels you can add from elsewhere, and you can't even use a menu replacer with Fire TV anymore without using Android Debug Bridge, for Gods sake.

I was waiting for the Google TV Streamer to come out to replace my Roku shit which keeps getting slower, and what do you know? Only a 22% increase in speed over the Chromecast, AND it killed the Chromecast line entirely. Far as I know, the experience is barely any better than CCwGTV. It doesn't even come with a HDMI cable, like how phones you pay 800 dollars for don't come with the fucking charger. Thankfully I'm only semi-retarded and didn't bother buying it.

It's fucked when Walmart can release a better Google TV than Google with their Onn 4K Pro...which is only available in the US and not Canuckistan!

No I don't need OTA updates, wifi, a fucking touchscreen to even direct the flow of the AC nor an app to control the car, just give me a fucking key. Of course this is all made so you're on the hook paying for subscriptions and unable to repair it. And its not just EVs, regular gas cars are already becoming like this with BMW and Mazda being the most notable cases.

Have a Brookstone bluetooth headphones. In terms of quality, I can't complain. Not a audiophile so maybe an "expert" would be able to tell me why they suck but for listening to podcasts on the plane with noise canceling it gets the job done for me.

What is annoying is when the battery is at 20% because then it beeps CONSTANTLY. Like every 10 seconds to tell me to recharge the battery. Why doesn't it just say "low battery" at start up in its pleasing english lady voice? Don't know. But having it remind me with a annoying beep when there's still plenty of battery life left is such an annoying fucking "feature"

Why does every motherfucking thing related to technology have to have its own "community"? Programming languages have their own "community". Operating systems have a "community". Web frontend frameworks have a "community". Machine learning libraries have a "community". User applications have a "community". Any given random shitware tool has a "community". Just thinking about the hundreds of thousands of jannies making work for themselves sweeping up all these communities is enough to make me puke. I could use a piece of technology, contribute patches to the codebase, ask questions about it online, and still never in my life consider myself a member of a "community".

I wonder if this phenomenon is a mix of
- People are so detached from a sense of homeland, neighbourliness and kinship that they have to bolster their sense of belonging with shitty online communities for irrelevant things instead of from their actual local community.
- Open source software is completely captured by people who love nothing more than enforcing their own little police state and this is just a means to that end.
- Modern "devs" are so infantile that the idea of interacting with anyone else (say, reporting a software issue or opening a feature request) without the safety blanket of being mediated through a highly-moderated adult daycare centre, is too terrifying to undertake.

Because every website demands a phone number, and there's been so many phone numbers recycled, that collision has been happening more and more. They limit how many times a number can be used for a website. You need to find a number that hasn't been used (at least that much) with the website you're trying to sign up for.

I do remember when my cellphone reached my limit to verify an account. I had to use my house phone number for it. It's quite insane and creepy honestly.

When there were only physical releases the real fun, for me, was to get games early by bamboozling employees into accepting my money and selling me the game by gaming their system. Same with getting new console releases without pre-ordering. It was fun to scheme and be clever. Now it's just Steam and digital store fronts. It's boring.

I had an old HP color printer that worked decently and was made before HP went crazy with all the technology and DRM they put in newer printers to restrict what cartridges can be used. I hadn't used it for quite some time, but I kept it on hand in case I ever needed another printer in a pinch.

Recently, an older relative's color printer died and I thought just maybe I could let them have my spare one because of how simple it is to set up, use, and maintain. After an hour of trying my darnedest, I learned that the printer was apparently so old that MS no longer supports it in Windows 10 and the manufacturer stopped publishing drivers for it long ago.

It sucks that hardware companies seemingly disallow people from having simple technology that does its job and does so well. Even the most basic of printers today has so much technology in it that it can break/brick on what seems like a whim and there's nothing to do about it except buy another one and repeat the cycle.

Shit like this is why HP has a bad reputation and why people make fun of Windows' compatibility woes.

Only companies I recognize that puts out speakers that don't look fucking retarded is Logitech and Klipsch. The Klipsch Promedia 2.1 is the only one I consider to be an option.

Tempting. But I really want a 2.1 system. I usually go for a scooped EQ and you can't really do that without a sub. PreSonus has a 2.1 system but it would cost me $430 USD, because you have to buy the 2.1 controller, the 2 speakers and the sub separately.

I remember during the 2000's-2010's 2.1 systems were everywhere. Now I can only find a few of them that aren't cheap chinese crap.
