Going to see Maiden soon (within the next 2 weeks), I wonder if they will say anything or if Bruce will stick to his script.

I've been considering seeing them, but someone shared a set list from a show in California that was extremely underwhelming. I'm not going to part with a pile of cash to sit a mile away from the stage and listen to shit from Book of Souls.

I'd be surprised if Nicko makes it out again on tour after this one; they are already playing some more prog stuff in the set to accommodate his stroke. I think the Killers 2025 tour will be a new drummer.

Seeing 'Prisoner' live is bucket list occasion for me, and no Maiden show is a bad one. I'm just enjoying them while they are with us.

The other thing is, I can see Maiden or King Diamond in the next month, but not both, and I have never, ever been let down by the King.

Solo project form a guy in Scotland. Basically a mix of Thrash and Black/Extreme. One of my favorite recent discoveries!

Edit: Remembered another recent discovery. Appalachian Anarchy, which is admittedly a more goofy band, but the music is surprisingly good. Mix of Bluegrass and Metal

New Master Boot Record kino came out recently. For those unfamiliar, their basic shtick is synth metal with a heavy emphasis on Baroque-esque composition. If I have the opportunity to introduce someone to it, I start them out with this song.
With this album they expanded their typical 'soundfont,' most notably with higher-pitched guitar parts adding to their usual synth riffs, where previously guitars were only used for lower-pitched stuff. They also briefly experiment with some ambient synth sounds, which I think goes pretty well. They did a similar thing with their other project Keygen Church, throwing a choir into the mix on their latest album.
Overall, pretty great. Wasn't quite able to outdo 2022's Personal Computer imo, but awesome regardless.
I have no way to prove this, but I'm proud to have been an MBRhead since before the UltraDitch collab with Keygen Church.

Recent "metal" songs I've recently hear that suck:
Powerflo - Gorilla Warfare. Are they too dumb to spell "Guerilla", or are they talking about niggers?
The Hu - The Trooper. In English, this would've been awesome.
