I never met any Eastern European woman that didn’t come to my country in order to escape from their physically abusive husbands. I remember a Romanian coworker of mine saying that alcohol is only good for making men violent.

Guess it's the bootstraps mentality developed in the 90's, after the borders to the West were reopened. These countries still suffer from the severed continuity not only between generations, but even within individual lives, and the lack of stable economical background that comes with it. Rapists, by their very nature, are often low IQ sociopaths who cannot comprehend the rights of other people. They lack empathy for others to a harrowing degree, and only operate on their impulsive need to hurt other people.
