I fucking wish they all were nice enough to protect women around them.
A couple years back I was taking a bus home and it was almost completely full. We even have cameras in them and the driver is supposed to throw out disruptive passengers.
A drunk as hell hobo wobbles in on some station and IMMEDIATELY starts hovering over a young woman (high school or early uni) and cursing and screaming. She was terrified, almost on the verge of tears. Men all around and everybody pretended to not see what's happening. I decided to step up and be the one to yell at him to leave her alone. Stood between them for the rest of the trip. Nobody even bothered to care whether the girl was fine. Honestly heartbreaking

Meanwhile, men's emotions are the basis for civilized society's most well-known (and most praised) art, music, literature, cinema, theater. Men's displays of sensitivity / emotional vulnerability are seen as deeply moving.

Yesterday a friend of mine had a guy write paragraphs to her about how her saying she hates men in a server they share is so wrong and sexist, and that if he "went into general chat going off on why I hate women, it's not a good image and it makes me look like a sexist, regardless of my history with women."
Why is it that men absolutely refuse to see why this kind of thing is not comparable at all. Women aren't constantly raping men, women aren't constantly killing men just because they're men or because they turn them down, women aren't constantly creeping on young boys.
This shit boils my blood, and no amount of explaining to them why you cannot compare us hating men to men hating women will get them to see our viewpoints.

This is why it is useless to waste energy reasoning with men. If we just stop engaging and do our own thing (and laugh at them) it enrages them much further, and it's healthier and funnier for us.

Would it be fetishized were it teenage boys? Such is the case for most mental illnesses in women. I cannot tell you how much the grippy socks schizo gf stuff set me back in terms of finding anything positive about men. It's the ultimate display of them not seeing us as fully human. Even your anguish gets viewed through a sexual lense. They see a woman at the lowest point of her life, and the first thing they think to do is analyze her place on the fuckability chart.
