Mega Rad Gun Thread

Probably classic stainless and full-size, just like Miami Vice.
i worked with the D&D Bren Ten blank guns doing a some work for the owner (there were only two and one was retained by the producer of Miami Vice, the other sold privately). they were carbon steel with industrial hard chrome and polished, built out of production seconds explicitly for the show and are a little different from the serial production models.

Interesting. I always assumed they were stainless. I'm not sure if the Vltor Brens were going to be stainless or hard chromed like you said, but I wanted mine silver and full-size. Vltor was talking about offering them full-size and compact, and with a variety of finishes including two-tone. It was like fifteen years ago, so I don't remember the exact details of the steels they were planning on using and the exact kinds of finishes.

i was talking at a friend of mine about how i'd like a larue trigger in my AP5/MP5, found out that could possibly happen with a lee sporting trigger pack and then got scared as i don't trust like that. during this research i saw bill springfield will fuck with your trigger for way, way, WAY less. anyone ever go through slick willy? clubby, you're the oracle, is he good? i'll send him my OEM trigger pack if he doesnt fuck it up. would a timney trigger be the best middle ground?

bill does good work but has very long turn arounds typically due to demand. he typically uses solder to build up an area and trim down with needle files as well as performs individual assessments on each gun, which is how it should be done to get the customer what they want rather than depend on a jig and muscle memory or "it feels real nice". the good part is that the sheet metal HK guns are like legeos and you can always just send a spare trigger pack to him and retain the OEM one for warranty purposes or as a spare.

funny thing is as far as i can tell i can get the timney trigger cheaper than i could get from HKParts. they want about 300 for a standard trigger. HKP seems to be a little ridiculous charging around like twelve hundred for something like a franklin armory binary in a magpul housing they painted the selector switch markings for.

Hey question. I want to get my dad a .22 caliber scope for Christmas that's in 3x9. It needs to be cheap but not dogshit. Suggestions?

HKP is a joke for most parts, however when they have a part no one else has, it is what it is.
They want $70 more for the HK45 LEM parts than HK themselves do from their own website, but HKP has the parts in stock....

Only place around that sells the 15-17rnd VP9/P30 magazine upgrade kits, too. At least they're only $15 (just picked up 9 of them tho...)

But hey, now all of my 15 rnd P30 mags are 17, and I used the followers and baseplate retainers to convert all of my USP-C/P2k mags from 13 to 15 rounds. Would be nice if HKP put together a "proper" kit for them, as I should probably replace the mag springs with the updated 15 round springs, as HK themselves now sells 15 round mags for the VP9sk that use the old USP-C bodies with a baseplate that fits the SK pistols.

If you want small HK parts HKP is pretty much the only game in town...

Barska's 3-9x 32mm "Plinker-22" (MPN: AC10380) with very little competition that isn't lacking things like coated lenses for anti fog or eye box that isn't an eyelash-checker. an older Nikon P-Rimfire if you can find one might be more ideal and Burris 3-9x "Droptine" is good too although doesn't last long with rough handling, good for bench shooting though.

They are the biggest non-HK supplier, but some others are HK's Web Shop, Arms Unlimited, Gatewood Supply, Midwest Gun Works, HK Specialist, RTG Parts, etc. i also order stuff from Europtic or Cherry Imports or directly from some places if you're willing to pay ~$100 in shipping alone.

Anyways, I'm gonna gun hack it with some sweet black and green spray paint and some dank plastic cobra grips."
Since I can't find a cerakoter in my area, I've had intrusive thoughts about using Army Painter spray paint/primer to cover up the dings and scratches in my Wrangler.

My better judgment has thus far prevailed. Distressed is a fine look, anyway.

Why would you cover up scratches with a primer? At least go for a normal rattlecan.

Primer in the right color doesn't suck - the red/dark brown on this rifle is just primer:

I don't think I'd use hobby acrylic though.

Found this guy on YouTube who makes bodykits for guns and some other cool stuff
Homemade helical mag retained with strap

Made his own reproduction Sedgley glove gun

Made a modernized Cobray Terminator

Made a groza

AND Converted an STG-44 to 5.56

Haven't even poster all the body kits thisbguy made (AR mocked up as WA2000, AR Mocked up as M60 etc etc) this guy's channel is a treasure

Have you ever wanted to own a hi-point carbine that looks like a crusty tweaker took a rusty hacksaw to the stock before using it to murder an Indian who owns the local 7/11 over $137?
Well Hi-Point Firearms has you covered because they're now offering the 995P pistol with modular pic rail attachments and the ability to accept AR Buffer tubes (the pic rail adapter threads into a buffer tube hole)

Unironically I want one, in 40. Gimme my Star Wars blaster Hi Point. Ngl been looking at their 40 cal carbines on Sportsmans, the 4095. It'd pair well with my upcoming pistol.
