What always grinds my gears about this crap is how in every universe trans, queers, gays, and mainly faggots always use the same terms, same color, same everything. Rather than use the science fiction or fantasy setting to obfuscate the politics they just have it front and center ruining the point. Lazy writing at its worst.
I believe there is a reason for that.
Evidence suggests that people react and respond similarly to fictional characters as they do real life friends. This has been known about since at least the late 1970s, possibly earlier. This is why children's media, like Sesame Street, for example, always made an effort to represent black and Latino families on their show, because your brain can't tell the difference between your black friend and your black friend from television, and if you see black people positively represented in media, you are more likely to think, "Y'know what? Black people are alright, really."
It is for this reason that representation is shilled so hard, especially recently.
The problem they run up to with the trans shit is that being black is about who you
are, whereas being trans is about who you're
pretending to be. The entire premise is built on untruth, and trans ideology is frequently inconsistent and contradictory, because it's changed as and when required, based on whatever is most advantageous for whatever particular argument is being had at the time. This makes for shaky foundations, even before you get into the fact that most trans people tend to be narcissistic bullies with a habit of pushing their luck beyond everybody's patience. After a while, even well-meaning people who support the idea of transgenderism in theory can
kind of see they're being manipulated and gaslit, and start asking questions about the whole shady business. This is how gender critical individuals are born!
The reason they've included transgender characters in this game and explicitly used that word is because they're trying to play the representation game. They want you to see this awesome, positive portrayal of what is explicitly a transgender person and, for want of a better word, trick you into thinking this trangender character represents all trans people, and change your views accordingly.
Man, this really sucks. I love Dragon Age.
