E Beggars on Twitter / Social Media E Beggar General - "Pay for FUCKING EVERYTHING"

"Why is doing the bare minimum so hard to do for so many of you" asks the woman trying to guilt you into financing the lifestyles of degenerate beggars. The total lack of self awareness from any of these people is astounding. How DARE any of you use your hard earned money to treat yourself, when Mem and her friends need tens of thousands of dollars for all their expenses AND for little treats for themselves. I really wonder if this form of online panhandling is more or less over. I see those messages are failing to crack 10+ retweets. Even the most credulous donor must realise by now that Mem is a lost cause.

Similarly—

IMG_7740.jpeg

That definitely wasn’t always the case. Black MTFs used to make a ton of bank in their crowdfunding simply by playing Oppression Olympics. Part of this decline is a general downward trend of people having less fun money during an unstable economy, and part of it is from people either being eternally ungrateful while always asking for more or being exposed as grifters. Mem herself was exposed as stealing from and extorting other crowdfunders two years ago, which killed a lot of the support and goodwill that she had in that community.

And yet, she bounced back well enough if she still has a small network of white knights that donate often enough that she not only depends but expects it to come in

IMG_7883.jpeg
IMG_7882.jpeg

She also recently raised over 1/7 of a $7,000 GFM in a relatively short amount of time. It’s still receiving donations as of yesterday!

IMG_7884.jpeg
IMG_7885.jpeg

But it isn’t enough. It’s never enough. It will be never enough. She will somehow secure a new place in the eleventh hour, fill it with sewage, and the cycle will repeat come next fall. This will be Mem’s life unless something changes.

I can't say I've ever canceled repairs because I was running out of bottled water and couldn't spray Lysol. I can't believe his/her landlord puts up with this shit.

While I'm certain she's in a shitshow of her own making, I'm also certain that she's getting far more help from behind the scenes than she is claiming. She's already slipped subtle mentions of using savings for items or repairs or about being on her father's health insurance. She'll find someone to help co-sign a lease soon enough.

I skimmed through prismaticbell’s posts, but haven't done a proper dive yet. However, I found the post that OP was possibly talking about. From r/IsraelPalestine, "I am growing increasingly disturbed with Pro-Palestinian videos and skeptical of Palestinian GoFundMes" (archive)

Screenshot 2024-10-29 at 11.17.43 PM.pngScreenshot 2024-10-29 at 11.17.52 PM.png

For clarification, I myself support the existence of Palestine and the possibility of a two-state solution.

Ever since October 7, many Palestinians have been creating GoFundMes and turning to various social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram so they can receive money for basic necessities and to evacuate them and their families out of Gaza. By now, everyone on social media has probably seen at least one of these videos. When someone is in a desperate situation, they may do or say anything to try to get engagement and I can absolutely sympathize with this. It’s heartbreaking to see civilians being impacted by war, regardless on which side someone is on.

Of course, many pro-Palestinian activists abroad wish to try and help spread the word so people can collectively donate for these families. I consider this to be a noble cause. However, the manner in which these activists try to ramp up their engagement is sickening, especially towards individuals who suffer from things such as religious trauma, OCD, psychosis, and anxiety. When people hear the same things repeatedly to them, especially relating to an issue that they are passionate about, it in a way becomes a reality for them.

Over the past year, I have heard these activists say really distressing things to try to guilttrip people into compulsively engage with their content. This is a short list of the things that I have heard people say.

  • “If you see this, Allah / God is watching you.”(or something along the lines of that, often implying or explicitly stating these things.) They usually imply or state that you will be judged before Allah / God / Jesus based on the actions you take, even though some people who frequently engage may feel like they’re resented by gods already.
  • “If you skip me, you kill me. / If you skip this video, you are complicit in these people’s deaths.”
  • “If you skip this video, I hope you get food poisoning.” (This opening statement actually compelled me to make this post.) Basically, they say that if you don’t interact with their videos and send money to these people, something bad will happen to you.
Even though I try to spread information sometimes relating to Palestine, I have had to block certain activist creators because they kept appearing on my feed saying the most heinous things for engagement.

I understand that what civilians in Palestine are experiencing is another level of hell, but the majority of people on social media have nothing to do with this specific conflict. If someone ever dares try to question anything relating to the pro-Palestinian movement from within, they get shut down and are basically gaslit into believing that their concerns aren’t important because there are ‘worse things going on.’

Simultaneously, people in these pro-Palestinian spaces are fed with the illusion that they are directly responsible for heavily influencing world events, almost as if they consider themselves to be the ‘main character.’ Because of this, these outlandish opening claims on such videos are easily believed and people compulsively engage. Unfortunately, the algorithm senses this and pushes more and more Palestinian GoFundMe videos onto people’s feeds, trapping them in an endless cycle unless they ignore every single video that pops up and feel the guilt that comes with such a decision.

Additionally, I suspect some of these Palestinian accounts to be bots / scammers. I recently made a Bluesky account and not even a day after (without interacting with any sort of Palestinian content), someone “from Gaza” managed to follow me. On Instagram, countless people “from Gaza” have followed me when I have barely made a single comment on any post. I don’t make Palestinian videos either, so I’m really confused as to how these people are finding my account.

This just makes this even more concerning. Someone could easily lie and pretend they’re from Gaza by downloading videos from other ACTUAL Palestinians and uploading them to their own platforms, and no one would know the difference.

I’m making this post because this is the only place where nuance is actually allowed and discussed. I have seen no one talk about this so far. Thank you.

I am not going to repost all the comments and political commentary for various reasons, although I do believe that the post/comments as a whole are worth a read. It is surprisingly balanced for Reddit. There is a single mention of 90-ghost in the comments

Screenshot 2024-10-29 at 11.11.20 PM.png

GoFundMe does not operate in Gaza, neither does PayPal. Anyone claiming to be in Gaza and sharing a GFM for Gaza is scamming you. Anyone who claims to be "vetted," those vetters are in on the scam and they never do anything more than say "just trust me bro" or reblog directly from the source.

90-ghost on Tumblr is notorious for this. It is not a victimless crime to donate to a scam, often times these scams are part of organized criminal networks who are exploiting and trafficking people, forcing them to send out this shit. Do not donate to these people, donate to confirmed charities which at least have a chance of your money getting into Gaza.

There's a lot of problems with these charities because Hamas tries to take as much of the aid money as it can, but at least your money is going to Gaza. There is a preponderance of evidence demonstrating how malevolent actors use humanitarian crises as a way to target well-meaning people. It happened with Ukraine, too.

One mention. One mention spawned an over 7,000 note Tumblr post calling death to all of Reddit. They're starting to become like 4Chan!!!

It spawned a small conversation of its own

[deleted comment, most likely from a 90 ghost supporter]

You realize that an article from a website that also looks scammy doesn’t help your case? There is no way to verify any of these fundraisers, and people should be critical of anyone asking for money on Tumblr— the home of mentally ill fandom women that no one else uses.

--

Like I said, just because he is a real person doesn't mean that he isn't in on the scam.

He is notorious for providing absolutely zero information onto the people he is "vetting", often times just posting "Legit" or saying "yeah I know that guy" or straight up not even saying anything and just reblogging their original post.

I'm not saying it couldn't possibly be real people. I'm saying this is not vetting. It's nothing. And when these fundraisers are already built on lies "help me I'm in Gaza" with no further information, no, GoFundMe doesn't operate in Gaza. That's not good enough.

I've used StatCounter to trace where these asks are coming from and none of them are in Gaza. It's the same AI generated photos, people sharing the same exact stories written the exact same way.

It's incumbent on them to prove they are who they say they are, it's not our responsibility to donate to shit that is contradictory out the gate. This is basic internet safety.

Bonus sub-thread where someone explains that most Gazans use Western Union or debit cards, if they're even banked at all

How exactly do you know who are real people and who are scammers? What's stopping anyone from going onto Facebook taking some random pictures of people that westerners think look Arab and then inventing a story of their misery..

holy crap.. I just started looking at some of these gofundmes, so many have tens of thousands of dollars in donation all being sent to people not in Gaza..

Gaza nor any neighboring country can even receive money directly from gofundme..

I forgot to say that these people will somehow manage to find you, sometimes even private message you. Some influencers / activists will say that they will GIVE money, especially if you use a “filter” or an “audio.” People have even used this to promote their mediocre music. I didn’t know that people in Gaza couldn’t even receive that money, but even then, the border to Egypt is closed last time I checked!

They can only receive money by Western union, some banks will transfer to Gaza branchs, but all the banks a physically closed since august and only debit cards work.. so it's also not an easy task to send money directly to anyone there.. more reason why I really think most of it is scams..

Tumblr Palestine scams are also occasionally discussed on r/Scams

Whether #FreePalestine Tumblr likes it or not, people can and will question bullshit when they sniff it, as is their right.

It really doesn't cost much to manifest some curtains.

Some apartments will send a nastygram for bedsheets/flags in the window; conversely, if you want to live somewhere there isn't that level of oversight, or anyone coming by and doing inspections, keep an eye in the neighbors' windows as you're looking for a place.

Tiktok seems to have a really active ebegging scene. I can't bring myself to download the app to follow them, though.

These Resilient Jenkins people have been all over my youtube feed though - apparently, the (black) father of this swarm thinks he should be paid $30 an hour (despite no skills), but really he just doesn't want a "W-2 job", because he owes a decade of back child support for another kid. Shocking. So, they're living like this because he's too good for work, and doesn't want his wages garnished to pay for the kid he already abandoned.

I'm surprised Tophiachu never caught on here at the Farms. That woman is a whole trash family train wreck of retarded people, pedos, animal abuse, living in filth, constantly begging on tiktok, and broadcasting it all to the world.

Back when I had tiktok, tophiachu was all over my feed. She would always overshare on lives and just generally make a fool of herself, it was very interesting to watch; all of the live comments were about how disgusting she is and all the lies she's told, but she would still get a decent amount of gifts so I imagine she's got plenty of money by now.

She's an ebegger - there is no amount of money that will pull her out of the hole she chooses to live in. She's got a bit of DSP - She's 'making a living' from tiktok, and you're all just jealous, when she wants to own the haters, but still living in filth, begging for money, and being useless. And her dad was apparently arrested again.

Given that this animal is pregnant again, I can only assume that all these kids living in one room are being exposed to their parents' sexy time

I am mati, I won't deny it
I hate that I know this but they live in a one bedroom. Those two get the bedroom to themselves (and it's set up with a television and other things) while the kids sleep all over the living room area, dining area and one kid actually sleeps in the kitchen, in front of the oven.

The stupidest fucking thing (besides being too stupid to figure out how a condom works) is that they've only just got bunk beds. There are tons of free plans online on how to make them, even if the materials have to be painfully scavenged one plank at a time. Lots of large, struggling families have used bunk beds to make better use of limited space, with curtains to give each kid a small, precious, private space of their own.

I don't blame families that struggle with poverty. The vast majority of the history of the human race has happened in conditions of deprivation incomprehensible to our decadent, Western minds. I do blame people who deliberately go out of their way to make life worse for themselves and their kids, and ignore simple solutions because it's too much effort.

I think the problem with this family, and a lot of other ebeggers, is that they aren't struggling with poverty - they're deliberately choosing poverty because they don't want to work. They're like the laziest caricature of welfare leeches come to life, right down to having more children that they can't adequately take care of, and assuming someone else should make their poor choices better for them. It's infuriating, since I'm sure most of us have compassion for people genuinely struggling- and then there's these assholes.

Here are a couple of recent food/soda begging posts.

Muh postpartum... really bitch?
I guess everyone goes through it differently, but that it would make you take such decisions as giving your children energy drinks is 100% unique to her

What a dumb bitch

Eta: missed the drinks was for her. To my defense, her post was a mishmash of stupid begging.
I stand by my point, postpartum is not helped nor better by energy drinks in any way.

Also, this is the only timeline where it's a brag that it takes you 9h to write a tweet.

I agree with all the criticisms posted about the Resilient Jenkins but I will say that it was refreshing (for this thread) to see a mom making decent food for her kids, taking care of their hygiene, and making an effort at keeping their space clean. It’s sadly an incredibly low bar but so many beggars in this thread don’t even bother to try.

I heard he has a breeding kink, and does Uber Eats for money.

Tumblr recently made a page about how to recognize potential scammers on the platform (archive).
Before this page came out, someone I know on Tumblr commented about the asks from people claiming to be from Palestine/Gaza needing money. As convincing as the stories sounded, the person questioned the effectiveness of sending money to people that not only have nothing right now but no real way to easily spend the money to buy what they need if everything is being destroyed on a near-daily basis. I simply pointed out past experiences and the recurring themes from here that people will tell any sort of convincing sob story just to take money from someone else under false pretenses and that one shouldn't give someone else money if you don't know them or what the money is really going towards.

So yeah, the average working person "deserves" to doordash food in every so often if they want a little treat, but a sensible person realises they can't do that all the time AND buy themselves the latest tech gadget.
I think any Kiwi with experience living paycheck to paycheck knows that buying the occasional "treat" item is possible if the money can be saved here and there gradually over time and no major setbacks require that money instead. Too many people though want to be able to buy what they want without regard to paying their essential expenses first such as rent/mortgage, utilities, etc. It helps them that too many people will give anyone money if the story is sad/persuasive enough.

think the problem with this family, and a lot of other ebeggers, is that they aren't struggling with poverty - they're deliberately choosing poverty because they don't want to work.
I think most reasonable people can have empathy for the person who works to make ends meet only to have barely enough money to keep their head above water. The people who choose to do nothing and expect to be bailed out with handouts are the ones that deserve neither that nor any respect. For those who actively avoid work and have an excuse ready, I can't help thinking of the Joker "You get what you fucking deserve" meme being appropriate here.
