checking up on the absolute state of r/politics, many of the leftists who havent ragequitted themselves to sleep are in utter defeat, some are still angry on Trump, some are blaming the failure of the democrats to get themselves a better candidate, some are blaming America itself, the mood there is just dreary and miserable.

In 2016, at least they could excuse the win as just a fault of the EC system and that since Hillary won the popular vote, they can safely say that the majority of American people didn't vote for trump, but this time, its very different, they can see very clearly that Trump has a 5 MILLION margin in the PVs, its the biggest and clearest indication that the majority of Americans are tired of leftist bullshit right now, that result has caused some...soul searching I would say.

the one thing I didn't see anything about are accusations of rigging, say what you want, they might act like immature and overreactive pissbabies over this, but, they would NEVER go as low as flat out denying reality when it hit them, something the right still couldn't move on from even when they won.

And they succeeded in 2020. People are in prison for protesting that they stole it, and they still call it 'election lies'. It is probable if they run out of votes they won't change it, but there will be waves of recounts in the next few months that chip away at Trump's numbers each time, pushes for the electorates not to vote according to the EC, and a push not to verify a felon as president. That said, I'll feel much more secure once the ballots are done counting.

I don't think Trump or Kamala or anyone can really do shit with how the USA/world is right now. Hysterics certainly don't help things but there are global economic forces at play that have fundamentally changed the nature of how people live and earn a living and die. I don't think, even through completely fucking things up, that we will ever get a repeat of the roaring 20s or whatever brief time period in history that people are nostalgic for.

People only romanticize time periods like those but forget about the great depression and the dust bowl shit (or whatever else we learned in high school). Whatever time period people thought was great (and there are those in the upper crust who think now is the fucking best time ever) there were always people that went through shit regardless.

The original point of the song, and The Wall as a whole, was to tell the story of someone so utterly losing his ability to connect with his fellow humans that it breaks him. In this song, Pink's collapse into despair in "Comfortably Numb" has completed, and he starts thinking of himself as a demagogue, ready to lead the excited crowds in purging the lesser beings from the world. As we go through "Run Like Hell", and later "Waiting for the Worms", we see him further spiral, until "Stop!" where he has his are-we-the-baddies moment.

It's somewhat depressing that so many of Trump's opponents and detractors think they're Pink's victims, and don't realize they've become Pink. Sadly, many of them will never have that critical moment of self-awareness, will fail to pull up, and will self destruct spectacularly. None of them will reach "The Trial", and order themselves to tear down their walls and start connecting to their fellow humans again.

If you're not familiar with it, or have only heard the radio hits, go listen to the whole thing, in order. It's a trip. Listen to the album first, before watching the movie, of which the video @Bland Crumbs posted is an excerpt. You'll get more out of the movie if you've listened to the whole album.

They couldn't rig it for Kamala because then it would expose 2020 being fraudulent because she didn't have the support for either primary. It's like cheating on a test but try to get 2 or 3 questions wrong to avoid getting caught.
