Honestly, I kinda pity her though. Must be though, living in a hugbox with people constantly trying to affirm you, even after you've become an adult and a parent, at that. I used to be like her, too, at least until I graduated high school. People need to learn to take on criticism and face reality properly.

Penny Arcade has apparently hit a point that they can't afford to run their forum anymore. Once their hosting contract ends in May they're shutting it down.
The head Admin, DJ Eebs, apparently fucked off. Only thing I ever remember him doing was taking over the forums and posting this screed about how heckin' valid and brave trannies are and if you're an evil nazifascistcapitalist istaphobe you're not welcome in HIS community. Standard SJW takeover shit, which was enough to drive me away from that community.

In light of recent and current events, of which I'll not rehash, as we are all currently living through them, we're enacting some new rules and guidelines on the PA Forums, and reemphasizing some of our current policies.
His little screed there is great. He's probably still seething this very instance from yesterday's election.

I sincerely doubt its a "can't afford" and more like a "won't afford". The forums are a legacy vanity project that doesn't grow any portion of their business, and they are probably thinking like businessmen and not figureheads of a community of fans. Granted its been years but the last time I checked PA forums they didn't even talk about comic at all except for nearly dead threads for posted comics, and there was only a moderately active PAX content; everything else was general Reddit-tier bullshitting.
Its also possible given your post about the SJW take over that screechign trannies based out of the forums are making it an extreme liability.
Giving a community of your fans 6 months to GTFO is kind of a dick move but I guess that's 89 more days head up than some places get. Pulling your branding yes, but it can't cost you that much to let them have a year.
I also wouldn't be overly shocked if this a prelude to Mike and/or Jerry bowing out and selling Penny Arcade as removal of the sorts of "brand value threats" an unofficially moderated forum with official logo on it are usually a precondition of a sale. Those niggas been at it for like 25 years, they sold out years ago when they caved in to fags and trannies on the Dick Wolf thing; so I wouldn't blame them for cashing out and its not like anything is really being lost.

Bingo, the forum was probably never an asset, but at this point any user space where people can express themselves is an advertiser negative. Don't ask questions, just buy product and wait for next product.

Holy shit I had an account on there (back when PAX wasn't dogshit), I'd call it the end of an era but I don't think Penny Arcade itself really ever had an era like 99 percent of people who have attended PAX don't even know who Gabe and Tycho are.

Forums CAN be an asset; targeted places like REEEEEEEEsetEra/NeoFAG or other... sector specific forums are very valuable for companies that operate in that space. Not just from a market research perspective, but you can also subtly control the narrative if you control the mods that control discussion.
The issue for the PA forum isn't targeted. It is just a small, gay Reddit; its mostly general spectrum posting. There's no real talk of the comic their conventions, its people who liked a comic talking about general events. So its nearly worthless for datamining, as anything they are talking about there the could really just talk about on Reddit or Facebook. The comic and the forums aren't even about gaming anymore.
I read Mike's blogpost; everything he writes sounds like a pretentious note you'd find at a suicide attempt.
So the first part really does feel like waxing nostalgic before stepping down. But if you hate yourself and read the whole thing, he's just bloviating about a guy he knows winning the Washington State secretary of state election and being happy because I guess the guy is a massive nerd (and may or may not be sending Mike to Japan to promote Gaming Cons, i can't tell if the comic is real or kayfabe)
