X to doubt for the sole reason that any such pressure from extended family to break it off with April would have been already well underway before the first April xeetstorms began over a week ago and well before the trad-dad cooking streams flexing his return to normalcy with Kayla. Whatever the "unknown event" was that triggered the self-immolation last night, it would have to have been more recent and unique.

I agree to an extent, her family must have been putting pressure on her long before yesterday (sister reporting them to the cops and all that), so it couldn't have been just that.
What is clear is that there was no one around to tard wrangle Nick and stop him from hurting their cases, destroying their reputations even more, etc.

The two biggest options are; she left with the kids, or he was kicked out (them not being around temporarily is much less likely because this was pretty self-destructive, and he must have been by himself at some point in the last few months and hasn't acted quite like this, so it points to something bigger happening).

The fact that it was preceded by their attempt to look like a "normal" family during those cooking streams (while Bob and Celeste hung around keeping an eye on them/him) makes it seem like that attempt utterly failed.
Add on top of that the "we broke up" comments, and the thirst tweets from both of them. It's obvious that neither of them wanted to break up but were "forced" to do it.

At the same time, Kayla has put up with this the whole time, I assume her family must have said something, but she hasn't really done anything about it. If you believe Aaron, he has said that she was freaking out about the whole situation but didn't know what to do because she didn't want to leave her kids (which makes zero sense because why would the kids be left with the cokehead father?).
My assumption is that either something finally got through to her (whether that is because she is taking less drugs, her family did an intervention or whatever else, is impossible to say right now), or Nick threw a tantrum after being forced to spend a couple of days with his family without April/they had a big fight because he was in a pissy mood because "mom and dad" forced him to break up with his mistress.
The way he talked about April on Melton's stream was with zero regard for anyone in his family, especially his kids or Kayla, which says a lot.

That said, Kayla has been a complete doormat until now, letting both of them walk all over her over and over again, so maybe it's as simple as Bob and Celeste not being around and Nick getting drunk while Kayla sits in the corner drugged out of her mind listening to him tell the world how April's pussy is fantastic and how many times he made her cum. But the way he went off the rails makes it seem like something more happened.
