I wanted an SKS for the longest time because it fills that incredibly comfortable Fudd-y niche where, minus the bayonet, you've got all the positives of a traditional "woods gun"
Wood stock, top loading with a bolt hold-open(fuck you Norinco), trapdoor magazine, ballistic capability roughly comparable to .30-30 standards, simple V-notch and post sights, and it's very light.
But I think I enjoy the idea of using one more than I would like having one.
