Marco Rubio is the new secretary of state

I think Rubio knows that if he displeases Trump he can replace him at will in the blood Red FL. Basically Rubio has to know he is on a short lease.

The Senate is the old GOP last stand so I'm really interested to see if they are going to cave. Hopefully Musk really start threatening them with a PAC to start primary them if they don't vote for Scott.

Being real, I could think of WORSE picks for secretary of state. Rubio should keep the RINO's happy enough without being a total fucking cuck. He can always be replaced later if need be. Right now Trump just needs to fill his cabinet and fast

AK-4: +4 but only 80% in and not a majority
AZ-6: +1.3 and not a majority (only 87%)
CA-13: +3 but only 61%
CA-22: +7 and 77% (probably safe but who knows?)
CA-41: +3 and still 75%
CA-45: +1.4 and 84%
IO-1: they want the overseas ballots before doing anything with it because it's 600 votes away

Does this smug, self-important, Amber Rose-lookin broad have any idea how much effort goes into getting a green card, keeping it renewed, and going through the citizenship process? Families can get here in the 1980s, work through the green card process in the 90s, apply for citizenship whilst renouncing previous citizenship of any other countries under Bush, and then get the certificate of naturalisation under Obama. It doesn't always play out like this; some people just wanna live under a green card and life gets in the way. Nevertheless, it takes a long fucking time to get from point A to point B, and kids going through the process can basically become teenagers or legal adults before ever seeing it "end."

Each step of the process produces an assload of paperwork that, in more sensible times, people would photocopy and keep stored in a fucking banker's box! Joy Reid can repeat the smarmy "If you're brown, you won't be around" rhyme all she wants, and the only thing it'll prove is that she's a worthless fucking bitch who's never done any paperwork for the federal government beyond maybe a FAFSA. Every single family that got here because of a green card, be they Indian, African, Latino, European, East Asian, Southeast Asian, or otherwise, knows damn well to guard that paperwork with their lives for just such an emergency!

Remember, every step of the process produces an assload of material to archive. The more paperwork you can produce about your case, the easier it is if you're ever detained by ICE/USCIS/CBP/INS/whatever the fuck it's called as a legal resident. You can argue in bad faith about the federal government being fundamentally racist and doing everything in its power to fuck over minorities, regardless of immigration status. That still won't make it fucking true! What about the unfortunate legal residents who get detained by ICE? You know what? I'm actually okay with deporting people who have a green card on paper!

Not every green card is earned legitimately. I knew plenty of Desi kids growing up that filled out bogus paperwork for their families. Little kids filling out sham marriage paperwork for their technologically illiterate families isn't where it ends; that ain't even where it begins! The late Osho, formerly Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, used his cult in The Dalles, Oregon during the 1980s to arrange sham marriages for his followers in India to the cultists who followed him in America. Purging green cards acquired under false pretences is a good thing, and it's precisely why mass migration (not just illegal immigration) is a fucking bad thing. We can split hairs about a percentage of a percentage of wrongfully deported legal residents, but a handful of hypothetical families is a small price to pay if it means getting rid of all the fucking migrant camps who comically outnumber those (again, hypothetical) families by several orders of magnitude!

The sheer volume of genuine fucking contempt I've seen supposed "allies" show the various immigrant communities who voted for Trump is revolting. Oh, they "betrayed" you by voting for a fascist? Waltz is a pretty typical warhawk who is big on Pentagon reform as well. People aren't gonna like the pick but he is a Trump guy and if you can get some of the bullshit cleaned up in the Pentagon that's a big plus.
