There's a theory that House Ethics found something and Senate will of course get access to that, so we'd be looking at a full blown TV cameras shitshow like a supreme court nomination for the confirmation committee hearing and the whole raw evidence dump goes in the lap of the media.

But, if he withdraws from the AG nom, that gets stopped too.


Fetterman might know that this is a Gaetz rescue plan, which is why he calls it trolling.

President Trump is pretty much the only president who hasn’t had his cabinet immediately confirmed by Congress. No other president has done it before because no other president has needed to do it before.

Not really a fan of a lot of these recent departmental appointments.
  • Matt Gaetz is a freak who should be rotting in a cell with Diddy. Hate him. He is a black stain on the party.
  • Kristi Noem is a homewrecker and a dog murderer. She should be a political pariah, not head of Homeland Security.
  • Pete from Fox & Friends is an okay guy, but he's a bizarre choice for Secretary of Defense. That should be Tulsi's job, not Director of National Intelligence.
I guess Trump's goal here is to just stuff all the top-level positions with people who are slavishly loyal to him and would do anything he asks without question, which seems like overcorrection from all the swamp creatures he appointed in 2016. It's okay to appoint loyalists, but he should appoint loyalists who are actually qualified for the job, not whoever's the most eager to gargle his cock and balls.

All Thune has to do is go with Trump in the beginning and will ride a wave of support for the next 4 years even if he starts to drag ass after a year or two. Just get the Trump bombastic admin, let them soak up all the airwaves, and then do whatever.

It's also notable the truly shitty appointments all seem to be leaning in the foreign policy direction. I think other people have also noted this seems to be a good-cop bad-cop move by Trump, very business negotiations foreign policy of him if true
