A little related to Sweet Baby Inc. There's this game developer I follow that talks about the ins and outs of the game industry. They've been doing this for quite some time (I remember them discussing lootboxes during the Battlefront 2 shit) so they've been around. They typically take questions from the community and someone asked them if companies like SBI have any power over the development process of a game and the developer's statement is "Possibly, if the game leadership allows it."

Hard disagree on all fronts. Resident evil 5 gameplay is similar enough with little tweaks to make it "better" without needing very much adjustment to map possibilities. I replayed resident evil 4 just a couple months ago and it is totslly fine and holds up. Games shouldnt need to feel "modern" at every time frame that would be boring as fuck.

A very small subset of game journos would care because it would make all their 'TAKE THAT, CHUDS' rhetoric look very stupid on reflection, but within a news cycle Bioware would be forgotten just like all the other once-great titans EA and other shitbox publishers have slain.

DEI is all over my feed too in both directions it seems to be the hot algo farming method right now.
Honestly I don't think this speaks anything about the game as its a relatively attractive character compared to most slop.
The person asking the question I do believe was confirmed to be a libtard that shits up game threads. Astroturfed? Probably.
But if I was a small developer in current age. I think I'd welcome someone harassing me for not being woke or putting gay shit in my game. There seems a lot of gamers happy to support devs not doing it.

Which is why they'll shut it down.
EA doesn't need bioware its just a costly bill at this point. Even with Bioware gone they have the IPs, and they can keep whatever useful talents they want from the scrapping of Biowares remains they'll do.

We saw how relevant the opinion of those "journalists" was. IMO, they will pretend that the death of Bioware has nothing to do with GG 2 and SBI.

Steam is implementing a "private app" feature to stop data from being scraped by SteamDB and the like. Supposedly this is to stop DLC and other leaks, but do you guys think AAA publishers are complaining about how their numbers look bad after Suicide Squad, Veilguard, and Concord?

I definitely think that’s a factor here, but likely not the only one. Easier to sell and lie about an image if raw data isn’t available to refute the claims. I’m sure the Dustborn development team would absolutely love to shout out to all of their fans for the massive support, but you can easily find that they don’t have any.

i know this is old but this is exactly why GG2 is working more then ever over GG1. times have changed. once GG1 ended the left saw how powerful yelling ist and phobe was and ran that shit EVERYWHERE. however, it started becoming weak during the first trump presidency. now it doesn't mean anything to your average american. look at who's back in office, trump. the most ist and phobe of them all. people don't care any more. they did back then.
