As a game developer it's really discouraging to see the precautions you have to take to prevent your game from becoming a child grooming hub just in order to have online interactions between players.
You used to be able to just run with basic profanity filters and the community would police itself, but now you have to do all this shit or it spirals out of control.
Unironically makes me never want to make another game knowing that whatever I make will get drowned in troonslop targeted to children and a thousand Earthbound-like RPGs about depression or some shit that were made in RPGMaker that week.

I think a big part of the camel's nose under the tent for Webfishing is the dev leaning into the LGBTP demographic. You need to put your foot down early and hard to prevent them from setting up shop and making it into Pedophile Playground #309,710.

If you make an 18+ section, it will turn into a degenerate shitshow. If you add titles or shirts that advertise your sexuality or fetish, you will get gooners and groomers. It needs moderators that take the sort of thing Ruben Sim said seriously and don't make friends within the game, since it's an easy way for shit to go south.

I love fishing games so I tried this one out (refunded). It's comfy but I checked out the Discussion page on Steam and immediately noticed faggotry. I checked out the Steam user page of some of them and they were all troons with 40+ hours ingame. Immediately realized what was happening and refunded. There's some shit about being straight in the game requiring 9999 catmonies or something.

Not even PREP can cure this amount of aids. Peaceful game turned into an aids factory. Curious that once again, something that might be popular with the youth and is social becomes infested with degenerates.

Every person Ive seen playing this shit from my country who fits into that "Huh? Where've they been?" group has thousands of hours in vrchat.
