The announcement text does not explicitly mention nuclear power, which is a big disappointment. I'm getting concerned that Trump himself has bought into the anti-nuclear propaganda, given the hesitancy he already expressed on the subject during the Joe Rogan interview.
Trump's position, to me, seems more focused on "let's get a stable foundation with what we have that we know works (coal/gas/oil) first" than trying to idealize a perfect plan on the onset.
I would be surprised if Trump refused to listen to Musk or others in his admin to at minimum trial at least a single nuclear reactor.

Biden took the civilian HHS tranny and made him a 4-star Navy admiral. Trump should make RFK a 7-star Space Force supreme planetary commisar.
Not a Navy admiral. He's a member of The Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, which is a non-combatant uniformed service branch. It originated as a health and hospital service for the merchant marine, but is a more general health provision and administration service these days. It was made a uniform service so that it would be subject to the correct rules for the treatment of prisoners of war, even though they're non-combatants.

Trump has said several times he doesn’t care about nuclear and I agree with him. Nuclear ain’t happening. But it’s okay. We are sitting on a virtually unlimited supply of non-radioactive, clean natural gas.

99% of that spending isn’t going to roadwork, sewage, and water treatment. It’s going to someone’s pocket. You’re getting played by the Democrats with classic fearmongering.
when was the last time dems actually fixed anything? I'm pretty sure flint Michigan still doesn't have clean water
we have very few potholes and i can drink the tap and flush my toilet.

Everyone in Trump's cabinet should just wear a fake military uniform, while the left would scream about dictator and Nazi costumes, we can just say, yall made a man who never served a second in the military dress in a female Admiral uniform we are just following your lead.

The Japanese Diet is largely a continuation of the Imperial Diet and there’s still a strong culture of never wanting to be outside the majority party. So you end up with big tent governments. I think there was only one time the LDP wasn’t in power and it was short-lived, but the LDP isn’t very cohesive. There are factions and right now the moderate faction is in control and Abe’s more conservative faction is a bit weak, though likely gaining control again as people are finding the moderates to be ineffective.
I mean...that sounds pretty good to me. In the context of what my earlier answers re: the virtues of a dominant-party system, that is. (Of course I understand that even in such a system there'd be divisions and factions within the dominant party, just like there would be in a non-democratic king's court or a full-on aristocratic oligarchy. Dominant parties don't = hiveminds after all.)

The Overton Window being shifted firmly away from where it's now towards a dominant GOP configuration where the fights for power that matter are between Republican internal factions like the libertarians, social conservatives, populists, etc. and the furthest left the USA could realistically lean would be someone like Susan Collins or Trump himself, while the Democrats are fragmented to a much worse extent and effectively locked out of power for decades at a time? Sheeeit, that practically seems utopian compared to the previous American political hellscape where one half of the two-party system wants to drive the country off Mt. Everest at breakneck speed and the other wanted to do the same thing but while keeping to the speed limit and with a lot more whining about how anyone who wants to stop the car is being 'uncivil'.

I remember in one of his post election speeches Trump basically said Bobby wouldnt be going anywhere near fossil fuels, but he could go ham on health-related issues.
I wonder if RFKJ is going to do more than just get fluoride out of our tap water, there's a lot more that's in it that's hazardous to health.

For example, there is high levels of arsenic and chloroform in the water used in my town; is that also being removed along with fluoride? Not to mention the fact that women who are on hormonal BC are contaminating the water supply as well.

I feel that Nicole Shanahan, RFK Jr.'s running mate, should also be thrown a bone. She basically convinced RFK Jr. to drop out and join forces with Trump and she campaigned for Trump hard, even making ads for his campaign. Hopefully she can join Bobby in MAHA or get some other appointment.

Can you blame the judge?

Yes. The case never should have even gotten to the discovery phase, but the janny judges wanted to fuck over Jones because of a number of reasons, chief among them his humiliation of Obama and to cover up several things. It isn't constitutional, but since the system is corrupted that doesn't matter at all. Alex Jones, dipshit or no, was denied his Constitutional right to due process by crooked judges working hand in glove with government actors and the plaintiffs. He was denied the opportunity to present a defense before a jury in a trial to determine his fault, thanks to crooked judges. I'll explain the sequence, with simplification and commentary.

1. The plaintiffs demand Alex Jones provide certain documents during the discovery phase, which is routine in civil cases.
2. Alex Jones responds with documents A, B and C. He replies that Document D is in the custody of Google, since its a Google record he cannot access.
3. The plaintiffs complain that Alex Jones never produced Document D, which is again in the custody of another party.
4. Alex Jones tells the Judge and plaintiff that they should request Document D from its current legal custodian, Google.
5. The Judge declares that because Alex Jones did not raid Google HQ with Seal Team Six to retrieve Document D, that he will penalize Alex Jones for the failure to produce Document D.
6. The Judge decides that, for failure to produce a document Alex Jones cannot legally access, he will punish Alex Jones with the highest penalty available at civil trial.
7. The Judge declares that, due to the above, Alex Jones now has a default judgement against him and is guilty. The plaintiffs win automatically, without any trial of ability for Jones to defend himself.
8. A new trial, for penalty only, is arranged, where Jones cannot defend himself, his attorneys are not able to defend him, and he must be struggle sessioned until a sufficiently poisoned jury finds a penalty of billions.

This is the exact same playbook they then used for Rudy, except it was a cellphone the FBI seized, I believe. The crooked judges seize upon an excuse to penalize the defendant and deny them a trial where they can produce a defense, instead going right to the penalty phase. It is absolutely Soviet, and the judges and attorneys involved should all be disbarred and imprisoned.

Now, some people try to excuse this kind of bullshit with statements like:
and the judge was getting sick of his antics
which is kind of a bullshit excuse, to be frank. First of all, a judge should be acting as a filter and not granting every single discovery motion, to prevent the discovery process from being overly onerous, expensive, and troublesome. He wasn't doing that. Secondly, advocating your case in court using the legal process is not antics, and trying to present it as such is basically advocating for no due process at all.

Finally, the judge was just looking for an excuse to render the highest penalty possible in civil court, default judgement and was going to find something to hang his order on. The glowie handlers, FBI, and scum sucking 'parents' gave the judge the perfect excuse by making a ton of spurious requests (which the judge is supposed to filter, but refused to do so for Jones). The judge knew all along that Jones would choke on the sheer volume of requests, and eventually have an issue. All the while, dismissing his attempts to file motions in the ordinary course as 'antics to delay the court.'

It was a setup from the start.

Ironically John Oliver's not that well known here in his native Britain. I think he was on Mock the Week like a million years ago when it started, and then he moved to the US.

No one here would give a shit if that faggot drowned
Olivers actually well known in the UK.... for all the wrong reasons.

He was an infamously unfunny comedian who was so hated and unfunny and caused people to change channels on UK television, that he was blackballed from UK panel shows for being ratings poison.

The only reason he still has a career is due to one man: Mo Rocca.

Mo Rocca was the original glasses wearing nerd on the Daily Show and he decided to fuck off and do other stuff in the early 2000s. He left a void on the Daily Show and John Stewart basically held an open casting call for a new nerd correspondent. Oliver was in the US by this point, having basically been run out of the UK comedy scene and the UK on general and off the basis of America being suckers for a British accent, got the gig as M Rocca's replacement. And once part of the Daily Show, Oliver sucked Stewart and Colberts dicks in such a pleasing fashion, that he became the show's secondary lead once Colbert got his spin off. And came came back to the UK and reeked havoc and carnage one everyone who told him he wasn't funny and got him banned from TV now that he had power as a gatekeeper in the US market.

Can someone give me a TLDR on what the whole “recess appointments” thing is? The gist I get is that it’s some way of bypassing the usual Senate confirmation, but if this was a possibility then why doesn’t every President ram through their Cabinet picks this way?
Because there is a cheat in the bylaws to stop recess appointments from happening since so long as a certain number of Senators/House Reps stay in the capital and on the floor during a recess it's not really in recess and you can cock block a president that way.

Trump in theory can order both houses to recess to stop it but that means invoking a rarely used bylaw that would create a huge stink and the optics that anyone he wants pas that way can't get approved and has to be cheated into office.

Hence the current theory floating around that the House will call a recess everyone going home if the Senate won't approve Gatz and Company. At which point Trump will force all of the Senate to fuck off for a day or two and recess appoint his crew, with Trump having a sone cover by the Speaker help him do so.

Stephen Colbert is looking quite goblin-like in his newest episode seething about the nominations. Seems like quite a meme-worthy screencap

That POS really should be burned at the stake in public in shame for that horrific vaccine musical number (he actually did several) he did on his show, that will forever be the one of the lowest points in "entertainment" ever.
