Because she's not half as good as she thinks she is.

She draws oversimplified faces because ~it's MUH style~ .
But since she always uses the same lazy shortcuts (e. g. simple geometric shape with two holes= nose) there's very little variety. She alternates between the same two nose shapes (triangle/bump), two face shapes (fat/angular ) with always the same eyes and mouth. .Ergo sameface.
Even hairstyles are so over-simplified they end up looking the same.


Of course, she'll argue that it's a cartoonish style sho it's exaggerated/ not realistic, but her traditional art has the same problems. Even her drawings of real people look the same- when you draw Nicki Minaj exactly the same way you draw Cher, you have issues.
Not that rory'll acknowlege it, in her mind she goes to an expensive school so she's basically Leonardo and Einstein rolled into one.

People like Rory really are an inspiration.

If someone like this can get a decent following of asspaters for their art, then anyone can.

I usually hope for young artists who have potential to hopefully improve and actually rock their skills all the way up, but her? I hope she has such meltdown she never picks up pencil again. Egoistical pricks like her deserve to have their ego shattered to crumbs.

When I was a young naive weeb between 13-17 - my style was always animu and mango faces/bodies. I thought drawing style is everything and what makes your art YOURS. I tried to improve myself but since I didn't want to get rid of my art style - I tried to combine my art with all the new things I learned and wondered why it looks so shitty.

The wake up call was seeing the improvement of a weeb friend who went from animu/mango art to realism and this also made her weeb drawings much better in the long run. So I let go. I started to read the books of Betty Edwards, James Gurney etc and subscribed to schoolism (I recommend taking a course with Jonathan Hardesty. As my knowledge grew - my art became better and better.

Rory was a good artist - but she can't let go of her ugly comic art style and thus her drawings look shittier and shittier. Same happend to me - but in reverse

As much as Rory wants to gender bend, they usually do not because it's "transphobic," as stated on the gender bent Steve picture they drew.
