The Game Awards 2024 (December 12) - Its 10 year anniversary

The precedent has been established in the past that DLCs are eligible (e.g., Witcher 3’s dlc won best RPG in 2016 and last year we had Zelda TOTK in the running for GOTY which basically was a glorified Expansion).
Still feels strange to me. There should be another category for DLC content instead of giving a game from two years ago a chance for game of the year for what's essentially an after thought.
It'd be like if George Lucas were to win film of the year when he decided to "improve" his films 20 years later. Best case scenario it should have a chance for best CGI (which it wouldn't have won anyway)

They should really separate the category into male and female for actual representation. Only one male voice actor and it's for a remake.

The "Innovation in Accessiblity" category (read: Troonslop) looking like a 5 Worst Games of the Year list was all of the enjoyment I needed from this annual shitshow.
Unless they have another Steamdeck giveaway, in which case I will watch.

If they were honest, it would be Asmongold, Grummz, Kabrutis, or Stuttering Craig. Reguardless of your opinions on them, they've had a much bigger impact on gaming as whole this year than any of these nobodies.
Yeah, I've at least heard of each of them, the real list was LITERALLY literal who's.

Please don't let stillbirth win
I'd prefer that over Metaphor Woketazio or Reddit Bot.

I just watch it hoping there will be even one game announced that interests me. It probably won’t happen though. Armored core 6 in 2022 was a surprise.
Tell me about it, the only announcements I'm hoping for are the PC release of FFVII Rebirth and Bloodborne Remaster, even tho we all know the latter one ain't ever going to happen because Sony is too concerned with remastering games no one wants like Horizon Zero Dawn instead of giving their audience what they actually want.

The absolute state of the gaming industry that even a pc port would be a pleasant surprise.

Even if it doesn't matter because TGA is rigged advertisement garbage, I still am very happy there is no remake slop in contention for GotY (except for arguably FF7, but even if it is majorly different enough to only barley be a remake it's still crap I hope loses). People are so mad Silent Hill 2 but a shitty action game that misses the point of the original and Persona 3 again aren't nominated and it's fun to laugh at them.

Still, not sure how much I like the list. FF7 as mentioned is padded, drip-fed slop that like SH2 loses all the charm of the original. Metaphor is probably a fine game, but the people who prop it up are glazing it way too hard for something that is very niche and has made practically 0 impact.

I'd be ok with Astrobot, 3D platformers need to come back. Balatro is a weird choice, in terms of indies it's got some traction but they've always snubbed extremley popular ones in previous years (Pizza Tower, for example) and I wonder why now they put it in contension. Still, I think it's too simple in concept to really deserve to be there.

Wukong seems very average and let's be honest it has 0 chance, it was only put on so people wouldn't point out the bias against it, but I'd be fine with it winning even if it dosen't deserve it just to piss off people.

Most contentiously is Shadow of the Erdtree. I hope this wins the most because it will piss off the most vocal idiots whining about it being a DLC, and it helps that as gaming content it is probably the best here. Should DLC be inelligble even if it's better content and actual REAL content (see: not remake slop)? Who cares, it's the game awards where the voting is done by shitty journalists. Another reason I hope it wins is because people with extremley short memory spans are acting like Fromsoft is the journalist darling that is being propped up, but seem to forget that when Elden Ring won it was in spite of a real nepotism title in GoW: Ragnarok being so outpreformed both culturally and in quality by it they would have showed their shill hand too blatantly if they did so.

So the funniest options I'd like to win are SotE and Wukong, but if they go by their more normal shitty standards I bet they're gonna give it to Final Slop 7: Reslop because it feeds into the big name and Sony shilling. Ultimatley though, who cares... I would only care if it was an actual popular vote of gamers instead of back door corporations inagurating the winner in the dark from the start.
