I've been looking forward to the Indiana Jones game for some time because I suspect it's going to be another colossal fuck-up for Microsoft.
I’ve been looking forward to Flight Sim 2024 and I’ve still not had a chance to have a flight. I even left it trying to load and went the gym, it still hadn’t spawned in.

I know this is a bit of a niche game but I’m surprised it’s inly really flight sim YouTubers talking about what a disaster the launch has been.

a game that, a lot of people, find sympathetic to communism together with the devs thanking Marx and Engels at the VGAs. This plus the collapse of studio and the subsequent infighting leads me to believe that if these people lived during the Stalin era/Cold War they would have ratted out their neighbors to the NKVD/KGB for wrongthink/petty bullshit and would feel proud about it.
I haven't looked into it, but I would not be surprised if all of them are trust fund babies and the only reason they were able to come together in the first place is their parents and grandparents worked very hard under newfound capitalism. To grant them the opportunity to that.
Insulated from hard work to get there, they become selfish brats ignorant willfully of what was done to their country and families.
Also absolutely they'd rat their neighbors out. These are the people who chant "right side of history" to justify their actions.

Does anyone know what's wrong with it? I always assumed Flight Sim was one of those games that only need a quick tyre-kick before shipping the new instalments.

It streams most of its data and they don’t have enough bandwidth. I can’t even do a tutorial mission. I’ve heard it’s super buggy too.

They ballsed up the launch of 2020 but not this badly.

This is suddenly starting to sound very familiar. Wasn't Microsoft making a big deal about this being one of their flagship cloud-based titles? Phil Spencer can't stop catching Ls lately.

I think they’ve been wanting to do that for years. Wasn’t that the original long term goal of the Xbox One when it came out? I’m glad I’ve just got it on Game Pass and didn’t go full retard and order the premium edition.

Ah yes, I would love to pay $70 for a game that doesn't even put all of it's data on my machine, only to have the services turned off in a few years and my money have been wasted.

I don't know if it was the Xbone's plan, but I definitely remember all the PR around Crackdown 3 gushing about how it was going to leverage The Cloud to have the most amazing destruction physics ever.

This did not come to pass.

The idea was all the heavy lifting would be done server side so you’re Xbox was almost completely future proof, if I remember correctly

Anyone of functioning intelligence (Meaning everyone BUT Xbox owners) saw through that bullshit and mocked it immediately.

This begs the question of what happens if your Internet goes down, but I guess that's why it was limited to the multiplayer mode (although it ended up not working there either).

It's fine, though, I'm sure they'll finally turn their fortunes around with the new Fable game that will definitely come out.

Bit off topic, but I find it interesting the range of opinions on that game. There's a large contingent of the fanbase that see it as a celebration of communism, but then others say that it pisses in the eyes of communists, capitalists, and everybody else.

And yet, not a single person defends the gameplay.
I've only played the first in game day. After the game called me a fascist monster a few times for daring to be nationalistic and anti inmigration, it kind of crippled my momentum. I do think it's entertaining and I was engaged the first few hours.

But like others have stated, the gameplay is very limited, a point and click adventure and a lot of stuff happens in the background. Has a solid presentation and style though. But it also very clearly has it's head up it's ass, probably making my character intelligent did not help since I'm constantly getting fake story notes and trivia.

You can also save scum anything if you are patient enough, though I for the most part am going with the flow.

I had an Xbox at the time, and even *I* saw through that bullshit. Given how long Crackdown 3 took to get to a release point, and how terrible it actually was, I'm glad to have been proven right about it. Not everyone who has a console is a corpo dick sucker.

The gameplay is dice rolls. That's it. You choose perks that up your dice rolls. Its the most basic of mechanics that has been around since the dawn of time. Its just less obscured the fact its dice rolls, that at the same time are complicated by a variety of dozens of things that factor into different roll types. The only thing it has going for it is the art style and story in terms of uniqueness.
Why are you expecting crpgs to have gameplay? It's like expecting visual novels to have gameplay, they're practically the same genre. Although with that said, dice rolls/RNG can be a fun gameplay mechanic on its own if done right, see dicey dungeons, buckshot roulette, roulette knight.

Genuine question: what is the appeal to games where your success is predicated on complete luck?

I gave up on playing Inscryption even though I really liked the aesthetic because I got tired of getting fucked over by RNG and having to sit through all the same slow-ass dialogue sections just to get back up to where I was and hope that this time I didn't get screwed over by stuff I had no possible way to expect/counter.

I've not played inscription but the appeal to buckshot roulette and roulette knight which are these kind of games is to navigate through the odds, see if you can turn them to your favour or quit while youre ahead. It's like gambling, these are basically gambling games, some gambling games can be fun, I personally really like blackjack and poker. Quarter of my time spent in rdr and God hand is on these two. In video game format said gambling has additions like synergies, stat manipulation, things like that. Balatro also does this quite well although that's a lot more biased in the players favour cause it's a card game.
I am not.
I was explaining people rave how good it is, but its really just the barebone basics of a dice roll game.
"People" ie the plebs who like story games and stories in games. Disco Elysium is a shit game no matter what it's content is, I've tried to play it 7 times and dropped it quarter way through cause it was too boring. Also plebs like games which jerk off communism like that coomer furry crpg which was inspired by disco Elysium, the one with the librarian mouse lady.
