Youtube channel acts incompetently regarding their content creation, blames GW for their stupidity.
Oh look, it's midwinter minis again. This time he wanted to paint some shit up for "orktober" videos, doesn't bother to order his $500 forgeworld model until September 30th. So of course because it's a FW model it requires fixing a bunch of warped parts, bubbles, gaps, etc. (and he's built FW models before so he was already aware of this). Now GW did show their incompetence by taking 3 weeks to ship a supposedly in stock model, however he could have also planned this shit a month in advance instead of a day in advance if it was going to be the entirety of his content for the month of October.
But that doesn't explain why the other shit that didn't take 3 weeks to arrive doesn't appear to be painted and he didn't use that for content either. Of course he could have also bought the models sooner, had them painted, and then just posted the videos during October like anyone with a brain might do.
He continued to be a huge fucking Karen about it in his latest video, and it was entirely his own fault. He bought the squiggoth (which was in stock) and then, at the same time, tried to redeem his Warhammer+ (
>paying for Warhammer+) limited edition subscription model (which WASN'T in stock).
Now, any normal person in this situation would've thought, "I need this enormous, very expensive Forge World model for a time-sensitive project I am doing for my YouTube channel, which is my main source of income. I do not need the limited edition Warhammer+ subscription model. Fuck off the limited edition model, just send the squiggoth."
But no, because Guy
insisted on both, he had to wait, and he basically scuppered his chances of having his Orktober video out on time, just because he
had to have a freebie 'limited edition' model that's going to be all over eBay in a few months anyway. But this is somehow not his fault.
The most bizarre part of the video, though, in my mind, was the bit at the end, where he gave away one of the models to one of his Patreon subscribers, and gave the lucky winner the chance to choose which of the three squiggoths he wanted.
Do I choose?
A) A third-party knockoff model which I won't be able to play with in official Games Workshop stores and which, if I really want it, Guy has mentioned several times in this video
I can pick up for fairly cheap anyway.
B) A child's toy woolly mammoth covered in shit.
C) The biggest and most expensive Ork model currently made by Games Workshop, which retails for over $500.
Now, maybe I'm just a cold-hearted cynical old cow, but if I was in that dude's position, given the available prizes, I think there'd only be one that I'd pick.
