For GTA Online on PS4/XB1, it would depend on their active user base and the technological limitations. I can SEE them doing exclusive next-gen content to incentive their players to migrate over. PS3/360 to PS4/XB1 was a big leap, especially since GTA V pushed those systems to their limits.GTA V on PS3 and 360 got updates with PS4 and Xbox One, up until 2015. After that, no more updates came. They then shut the servers down in 2021. They'll probably make updates for 2 more years, then shut down the servers a while after.
Actually made me laugh more than I expected. When Dunkey released his video on SA:
Zoomers ate it up.
How else will you be a whole man? It's ALWAYS the pork bun.
Keep in mind this is from pre-adpocalypse YT when being edgy was still allowed. No way Dunkey says 'faggot' otherwise.Typically I can't stand Dunkey's voice. I have my doubts it's even his real voice.
IIRC, wasn't Sleeping Dogs originally pitched as a sequel to True Crime New York City? Which honestly, it sucks that series died. It had its warts and some odd fucking narrative choices and most of the characters were goofy as fuck [Nick Kang especially] but it was charming and fun to play. This is why I never really got anyone back in the day bitching about every open world crime game being a GTA clone, who gives a shit? There are so many different things you can do with that basic rubric that the games don't end up feeling terribly 'samey' by the end of it anyway. Like Saints Row had enough to set it apart from GTA, so did True Crime and most other similar games.Fucking really wish they did more with Sleeping Dogs. Loved that game, the atmosphere, the lights, the action of driving, fighting, and shooting, the pork bun, all were the makings of what could have been a really good series.
It was True Crime: Hong Kong before Square Enix bought the publishing rights to the title, but not the True Crime IP. Basically, Activision did not believe it would recoup its development costs against GTA since True Crime did not sell as well from its two titles. The game was practically finished under Activision when Square acquired well.IIRC, wasn't Sleeping Dogs originally pitched as a sequel to True Crime New York City? It did actually get a sequel, but it was some always online shooter nobody playedSomehow, it did not do well enough to develop into a franchise. Shame, it's an underrated gem.
One of the worst things that GTA V did was put a face to Lazlow. I'd have enjoyed him so much more if he was still just a faceless disc jockey on the with outrageous shit. Even if he ran a V-Rock style 80s station and he was trying to relive his glory days. It could have been Michaels favorite station too. But making him the douche bag that they did was such a fucking bummer. I was giddy as shit when I heard him in GTA IV and eagerly waited to hear him on the radio in V, but instead they gave us none of that. I don't even mind that Lazlow said he wouldn't be returning to GTA in the future.Lazlo still had some fire back Then.
Yeah it was called Triad Wars and it was an MMO. Basically something nobody asked for and shut down in 2016.It did actually get a sequel, but it was some always online shooter nobody played
It never even got out of beta. You'd think the gaming industry would learn, but look at what happened to Skull and Bones.Yeah it was called Triad Wars and it was an MMO. Basically something nobody asked for and shut down in 2016.
I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with that idea.
True Crime NYC really felt like they were sort of "finding their feet" and it wasn't as outrageous as Streets of LA, which had fucking zombies and fire demons and dragons. It was really a more grounded, pretty decent gritty cop story from what I can remember and I took forever to finish the story itself because I was constantly getting sidetracked going out on calls and dealing with street crime. It was better than it had any right to be and it certainly didn't feel like a GTA clone. It's the first game I can really remember that halfway tried to capture [in a very movie-like and action-packed way] police work and I honestly don't know why there aren't more games that try to do that. There's a handful of "police simulators" but those tend to be a lot more procedural about the mundane stuff, which is fine but something between simulator and True Crime NYC would be cool, not quite as action-packed but not like "you've rolled up on a traffic accident, take a report and put cones around it." like most simulators are. I like simulators [Farming Simulator is way more entertaining to me than it should be] but something inbetween would be cool. L.A Noir [to get it back to Rockstar] was a good cop game but I don't know why there aren't many games where you're just a plain old beat cop and not a detective or a special agent or something, police work is the perfect theme for a game, you go on shift and a bunch of random shit happens and you have to deal with it and figure out how to approach each situation, complete with a bunch of crazy ass deranged characters and weirdos. It was True Crime: Hong Kong before Square Enix bought the publishing rights to the title, but not the True Crime IP. Not to political sperg but I think game developers are afraid of backlash by making games like LA Noire and Sleeping Dogs or even games like PS2 NARC because in current day cops are bad.but I don't know why there aren't many games where you're just a plain old beat cop and not a detective or a special agent or something
It has such a cool atmosphere and I like the graphics a lot. I love the sounds in it: games need more loud player footsteps and car doors like that. I always found it cool when I was younger because my mother knew one of the voice actors from it. Unfortunately, there aren't any kind of 'dynamic' situations, like in LSPDFR/LCPDFR.L.A Noir [to get it back to Rockstar] was a good cop game
I played a tiny, tiny bit of LSPDFR, because, like you, my PC is completely terrible and would never run GTA V. It must be fun when you get all of the different agencies and their jurisictions set up properly. To spin this back to GTA discussion since this isn't the "open world vaguely crime-related sandbox game" thread, this is one of the reasons I'd really like to try the LSPDFR mod for GTA V, shame that the game runs like ass on my PC but I'll eventually get to it. Seems like a good time to me and the game is perfect for a mod like that.
Correct, a speedrunner known as Hugo One bought a Cameo from Ogg to be Trevor, Ogg took it personally and became a dick.Something else too about a Cameo gone wrong where he's essentially a dick even though the customer paid him $140. Turning into an lolcow maybe? This is a far cry from the first few years after the game was released where he seemed to be enjoying himself.
I haven't heard anything about that. Do you have a source to prove that?I saw he got divorced a few years ago. Now he's posting nudes and solo sex vids.
This seems to be a very controversial point among fans. I never heard of the nudes and solo sex shit, and frankly, I wish I hadn't.What's going on with Steven Ogg? Does he hate Trevor now? I saw he got divorced a few years ago. Now he's posting nudes and solo sex vids. Looks kinda unhinged. This is odd. I totally understand the pay for working on these being shit. I do. Niko actor was unhappy but he is thriving in theater work. The RDR actors seem happy and love the fans. John Marstons actor quit Hollywood after the first game because he preferred the quiet life. But he did return to the role and now he's doing cons and having a ball with the other actors. Michael and Franklin's actor's are also thriving.
I saw his Instagram. I saw a few posts of him reciting poetry and reading with his shirt off. Unless you're talking about something else. Now he's posting nudes and solo sex vids. Looks kinda unhinged.
He could've declined the Cameo request and made a post asking fans to NOT typecast Cameos as Trevor.I'll agree it may have been shitty to accept the money if you were going to just shit on the guy but I can see it from Ogg's point of view. GTA V was over 10 years ago now. He wants to be an actor, not a character. Ned Luke will fucking quote "You forget a million things, every day pal, make sure this is one of them" until he's fucking 90 (Ned's new favorite thing seems to be him saying how much he hated that line. He LOVES telling that story)but that's not what Ogg wants.
Yes but the way he did it got the point across better, though it made him look like an asshole.. thus making him look more like Trevor. He could've declined the Cameo request and made a post asking fans to NOT typecast Cameos as Trevor.
It almost certainly is as gang members like Charles point it out. This isn't to say that RDR2 didn't drop the ball when it came to handling it because you still have idiots going around saying is Arthur is a good person despite being a mass murderer who only repented once he knew he was gonna die. While I admit the hypocrisy is probably written on purpose for RDR especially 2.
