The average American has not felt genuine hunger in his entire life.

Very stupid question. but how do I deal with feeling hungry on a fast?
From what I understand, and in my experience, hunger during an extended fast happens for three reasons:
1. You're at the start of the fast and you haven't depleted your glycogen stores yet, your body hasn't switched into ketosis (burning fat for fuel), and it's screaming at you to eat carbs. Once you run out of glycogen and switch into ketosis, the hunger diminishes or disappears. The amount of time this takes can vary a lot based on your prior diet but it won't be more than a few days. In the meantime, caffeine is a good, widely available and socially acceptable appetite suppressant, just make sure it's 0cal like black coffee, unsweetened tea/iced tea, or diet coke. Or you can supplement it in pill form, as in nodoze or jet alert or whatever.
2. You aren't supplementing enough electrolytes (sodium + potassium, maybe magnesium), which you NEED to do, they're as necessary as water and your body will crave sources of them, like salty junk food, if you're running low. You can get electrolytes packets with 0cal artificial sweeteners like Propel to mix into water at most stores, or you can look up "snake juice" which is a simple, cheap, flavorless, diy recipe.
3. You're literally out of fat to burn.
This is all covered in the video I linked, you should watch it.
So should I not eat for 3 days?
I would. I've done both IF and extended fasting and I find extended fasting easier. With IF, unless you're also eating a strictly ketogenic diet, you're constantly oscillating between glycolysis (body want carbs) and ketosis (body burn fat), whereas with extended fasting you're switching into ketosis and staying there. They're both great for your health and they each have their own benefits if you want to get autistically orthorexic, but extended fasting is the clear winner when it comes to burning fat, in my opinion.
A lot of people do "rolling 120s" aka fast for 120 hours (5 days), eat for 2 days, repeat. This is a pretty good way to start in my opinion.
I posted a tldr in the lifting thread, I'll try to find it and append it. But really you should just watch the video I linked earlier, if you don't even care enough to do that you probably don't care enough to lose the weight.
