Taking bets on how long it lasts without ads. It took Shitcord a good few years before they started shilling slop on every possible screen, but this also has less capital and appeal. But investors are investors. I'm giving it two years.
Provided, of course, that it lasts that long before flatlining, having blocklisted itself into oblivion.

Which is why I’d like to see Trump wage a crusade against CSAM and pedos. Just by using current laws we could probably mass arrest millions of predatory progressives and cuck conservatives. I bet a lot of the most annoying “conservatives” like Nick Fuentes would also end up behind bars.

Seeing as how much of the noise around Bluesky is directly or indirectly caused by political motives, I'd wager that they wont have problems with funding for at least 4 years, for obvious reasons. Depends on how much of the current momentum they are able to keep.
At some point before monetization comes into the picture however, they will be forced to clean the patently obvious filth the whole site is built upon. I don't think the loudest portion of the userbase will react positively about it, even if they keep their promise about not having ads. Right now the inmates are ruling the asylum and Bluesky can't afford to clamp down on the rampant gooning, feral furries, x-philes and outright illegal fedposting, but at some point potential investors are going to notice the site's content is around 20% bussy pictures and menancingly point at the broom closet, and that's when the real troubles will begin.

Having said that, I kind of think the site is going to do better and last longer than many here seem to think.

They seem to be attracting fairly high public profile people I don't associate with the lunatic left, though I guess they're pretty liberal. If:
  • enough normies follow these people over and
  • if they can get the purity spirals under control somehow and
  • if they don't bloat up with an insane number of useless employees (as Twitter did)
they may be on to something. Not saying the site is going to be a slam dunk necessarily, but there seems to be a market out there for it.

I imagine that the original creators of BlueSky wanted its userbase to be Silicon Valley techbros, "e/acc" ("electronic accelerationist") accounts, cryptocurrency enthusiasts, "digital nomads", transhumanists, SpaceX aficionados, and other people who like to talk about numbers a lot. That they instead have to see BlueSky be turned into a cesspit of the rejects of left-wing Twitter must mortify them to some degree.
