Wendigoon Thread

Can't sit through the last story with the girl having the most high-concentration superwholock tumblr voice imaginable.

So many people on the sub are arse licking that Koji reader because autism and trans fs. Like your identity and tism doesn't matter. You were annoying.

Their reading of lines wasn't necessarily bad but the trying to be in on the boys banter even when they ignored her multiple times was too much. She really thought she was a third host and you could see every so often that the boys were trying to just ignore and get through it. At one point Isaiah even said that's not part of the script and then she was screeching how she was trying and it was too much. Trying to be gunny but instead it kept falling flat.

The guys were grand st reading and the lad who voiced for Charlotte was really good and enjoyable in my opinion. But then the middle guy had to go an be a cringe dick himself when he came to the subreddit posting about how awesome koji is.. like good lord you're not going to get laid by white knighting for a cringe weirdo who couldn't shut up.

I did enjoy the rest of the episode though and I liked that we got to see the stories they did live.

I do think they should cut mics off when not reading their lines though or something cos it was too much.

Also, apparently there was another audience reader at one of the other locations for the live show who was worse than koji if you can believe it.

I saw a post on the subreddit about that right after that show happened. That guy was way worse than Koji.

So, they picked 3 people to help them read the final story of the night, and they were all given the opportunity to introduce themselves before they started reading. One of the guys said his name and then proceeded to say “but I actually have a story for you guys”, which Isaiah and Hunter were hesitant about but let him speak.

He said that someone on the reddit posted that they were selling VIP tickets, so he bought them off of the guy for $100. But the tickets he recieved were just GA, so he didn’t get to go to the meet and greet. At this point, our esteemed hosts were sympathetic but also like “..really dude?”

Afterwards, they get through the story, and they give a round of applause for the 3 people that came on stage to help them read. The same guy then says “Can I actually say a couple words really quick?” He proceeds to thank Isaiah and Hunter for coming, among other things, and requested a round of applause for them. He was doing this mostly in good faith, but it was definitely drawing attention away from the hosts and it seemed like it was making them uncomfortable.

Then, he took out his phone and asked for a picture with them on stage. (Keep in mind that this venue had a pretty strict no phones policy during the show as well.) Hunter made a comment about how this really wasn’t the time and place to do that and kind of brushed it off. He tried to commandeer the conversation again as it was getting a little late, and there was a lot of tension in the room at this point.

Hunter started talking and then the guy went ahead and took a selfie with Isaiah, which Hunter also made a comment about, since he had literally just talked about this not being the time or place for that. To be fair, I believe the other two participants both got autographs on their scripts, but i’m not sure they would have asked if the other guy hadn’t asked for this little meet and greet moment in the middle of the show. They leave the stage and the show ends shortly after but it seemed like Hunter especially was feeling pretty tense, but he is also just kind of a gruff guy so maybe I misread the vibes.

Anyways, nothing crazy, and i’m sure it was just the guy being starstruck, but it was definitely a less-than-ideal situation for the hosts to be put in on the spot. Hunter had said in a few episodes leading up to the tour that he was nervous as hell. Plus, this venue was a lot smaller than the other two previous stops; the audience was way closer to the stage.

I don’t think the guy had bad intentions but he definitely was too preoccupied to read the room/take the hint. No hard feelings to the guy, i’m glad you got the chance to come to the show!

I hope I explained the situation accurately and got the right details. I was personally pretty close to the stage on Hunter’s side, so I was close enough to see his facial expressions and body language throughout. These are just the vibes I got from the situation, but I’m glad other people picked up on it too.

It seems almost impossible to have any kind of Internet fandom that isn't infested with socially awkward weirdos, sexual degenerates, LGBT+ freaks and other associated oddities. Maybe if Wendi had leaned in more with the Southern, God-fearing and gun-loving Chud aesthetic earlier in his career his fanbase would be slightly more normal than what they are now. Isaiah comes across as very easy-going and gentle and people like that seem to be magnets for the woke crowd as they know they can exercise a lot of "power" over those kinds of creators, in terms of getting them to capitulate to whatever demands they have. Had Isaiah leaned more into giving his content a masculine edge most of the Tumblr/Reddit crowd he's attracted would never had given his channel a chance.

Cool down my dude, he's not going to hedonism 4 or talking about abortion or gay shit just yet.
The redditors are cringe but they don't really hurt the content just yet.
Don't forget that they read a 4chan story in that live show.

It seems you misinterpreted my post. It was moreso to do with Wendigoon's fanbase than Isaiah himself - I feel a little bit sorry for him in that a regular country guy has to deal with these rather unhinged people, based on what you guys said (I haven't watched the live episode yet).

Isaiah is a little bit passive and I think that's why so many of his fans are *like that*. I think it's why IPoS felt confident enough to attack him so aggressively, and Isaiah rather humiliatingly conceded that he wasn't a conservative and supported LGBTQ. I think that move was a mistake as not only are his politics irrelevant, but it helps cement the principle that anyone with right-wing opinions is anathema on YouTube.

As a side note, I wonder how genuine Isaiah was when he said he wasn't right-wing. Isaiah is an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist and a Sunday School teacher, and IFBs would hold rather traditional opinions on gender, sexuality and all the rest that would likely annoy some of the more vocal sections of his fanbase.

I reckon like most people Isaiah does not hate gay or trans people but probably like most normal people, finds the recent trans movement and transing literal children to be abhorrent because it is. Voicing this does nothing for his channel or him continuing to do what he enjoys so a blanket I support LGBTQ and then not talking about it is enough for him. I agree his politics should not matter or come into anything at all but given he's clearly passive and just wants to get on with what he enjoys he leaves it out unless he has to say something.

Fair enough. I don't get why he said that either for the record when it's pretty obvious he at least a libertarian with traditional beliefs (and yes it's extremely obvious to everyone watching) you don't cry reading the divine comedy and not be right wing.

Way to be a doormat, fellas. Fuck me, how hard is it to just say "No"? You tell the dude no and to chill the fuck out once, and if he doesn't listen you tell them to get off the stage, or to leave, and pick someone else.

Refund their ticket if you want to soften the blow, but don't just sit there and tolerate it. Give your nuts a tug and remind these people this is a privilege, not a right, and that this privilege can and will be revoked if the rules aren't followed.

Contrary to popular dogma, most conservatives aren’t raging gun freaks dragging gays and abortion doctors to be executed in the street. These autists have convinced themselves otherwise though, so when they view Wendigoon, a normal representation of the average conservative Christian, they assume that just because he isn’t screaming the word Nigger and calling for TTD (what twitter tells them all conservatives are like) he must be on the same page as them.

They’re actually manipulating his kindness and easygoing nature, it’s pretty sad.

I think a lot of them view him as a big wholesome non-toxic masculine role model, and you get the pooners and tumblr girls and sad soft reddit numales latching on to him as a parasocial safe older brother mentor figure, and I think he’s too nice to tell them to fuck off, or to reveal his full powerlevel.

I think he’s just a dude from Tennessee and that the Internet has a habit of projecting what they want people to be on the content creators they watch.
