Back in the day Sandypants was SUPER popular on FA. If you recall her character sheet, there's a lot of character art from other people on it -- Sandypants got a lot of fanart, so I would not say that Shmorky blew all his funds on commissions.
I even think my girlfriend at the time drew Sandy fanart.

Because Sandy appears to be sweet and feminine she was much more approachable and thus had a wider fanbase. Do you think this is why Shmorky began to deviate to being more feminine? A cute little sheep would be a lot less creepy to interact with than an awkward and balding rabbit in a diaper (Dave Bunny was a tragic character design).

It would be a lot easier to lure people in that way.

The problem with "artist" like shmorky is that they are lazy and only do work that interests them. I liked watching the Cartoon Network shows with my nephews and my friends children because its clear the people behind them pack in little jokes that go over kids heads. for the last few years I ve been impressed with the steven universe stuff its constructed rather well, and for the most part they know how to be...."subversive" and the key to that is subtlety.

A few years ago I had a creative type ask me for money. He wanted to make some kinda film or youtube video. He was/is a washed up video FX guy who got his start doing fan films back in the day. I told him I would loan him some money, if he gave me 1) a script and 2) a spread sheet budget. While he was suppose to be working on these things I did some research saw the mountain of work this shit was, decide i wasnt gonna loan him money but hey at least he ll have a script to show other people.....guess what he never got back to me with ether of those two things.

Another time he hit me up with an idea for a fan star trek video and he told me the premise I pointed out it sounded just like that porno they made a few years back and I got an earfull on why i had to be negative.

If he had a show, as a means to indulge his perversions, it would mean he'd have to trop the trans shit have a more public face and just put more work into targeting and grooming his victims. Whats gonna save people is his laziness.

3) Still defending horrific artwork as 'commissions'
4) completely disregards Mandrys_Milans view of their relationship and says Shmorky was the abused party

IIRC SA goons were generally able to pass over the few diaper pics that were dug up during the Todd thing since there weren't a ton of them we were aware of. His excuse of needing to take commissions from disgusting furries to survive was accepted because furries were the bane of SA at the time. He made himself sound like a victim about it, too. We were willing to accept that he had to pay rent and the trade off was that he had to draw crinkle furs. If a big cache of pictures or a chatlog like what's been posted here had been discovered, the outcome would have been different.

I would be willing to believe that he spun off his identity as a diaperklurf so he could have plausible deniability among goons. It took @Soliloqueef coming forward with proof to actually link the two identities.

I was thinking about the Todd Goldman "art thievery incident".. Dave made the Peaches FA account March 2007. The Todd Goldman Plagiarism thing is documented on wikipedia as happening April 2007. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Goldman tried to dig up dirt on Dave and stumbled upon some diaperfur art, then tried to "soil" Dave's reputation.

I wonder if Dave abandoning his Peaches account and switching to Sandypants had anything to do with this.. Hence the dramatic, less likely to be traced art style change, etc. Dunno, just a thought.

That is entirely possibly but I'm not so sure about it at the same time. I think just Todd found whatever was on the ED article at the time which was old DaveBunny stuff from the early 2000's, rather than finding Peaches.
