Since he doesn't have his own thread I figured I might as well post here. Apparently American Krogan decided to call it quits. I'd post his announcement but Odysee seems to be down right now. His main reason appeared to be the lack of monetization on the platforms he had to resort to after getting kicked off Youtube. Deplatforming works it seems.
Kind of makes you wonder if the mod had anything to do with it, must have taken a lot of hours of his time and money(for commissioning voice acting) for a mod no one cared about when he could have been making videos instead.
Kind of a shame imo, I enjoyed quite a few of his videos even if his sources were sometimes rather suspect and the music was obnoxious.

I don't know where to put this news, but it seems like American Krogan's Odysee channel got taken down. This must have happened very recently since I checked out the channel just a few days ago. His Odysee channel was his last official online presence. I know he already quit last year, but it sucks that his last online legacy got deleted, only leaving archive snippets here and there on the internet.

I found his deep dives into American history engaging and really unlike anything I've seen being done before. The Bioshock Infinite series of his was a great listen for the most part, though it was jarring to me how full schizo he goes by the end. The series ends on a loving tribute to a guy who has a Lolcows of History thread on the farms. Even then, I'm sad I didn't think to archive it locally.

That's true, but in Fallout, mankind is a bit past the hunter-gatherer situation. They have schools, societal structure, government, etc. Male violence has been extremely whitewashed in the games, however, but I'm thankful they decided not to match the real world male propensity for rape.

1. Fallout is very obviously a post racial society. He harps on the idea that segregation didn't happen and the style and culture is stuck in the 1950s. It is not a leap to assume that rather than racial divisions the United States instead racially homogenized to emphasize it's distinction from communism, hence why you don't see any racists in a post-post nuclear wasteland. The timeline is that bombs didn't drop until 2077. It's absurd to think that America would not have addressed and resolved the racial issue by then (and maybe if you didn't have an FBI/CIA intent on shoving drugs and poverty on black people you wouldn't have the problems you have now). The games even still have racial distinction against the Chinese (Little Yanghtze, the internment camp at Point Lookout) implying that racial issues were solved.

2. A character like Tinker Tom's skin has no bearing on the game. I honestly felt they wrote him as a junkie techie. Why you feel that kind of person needs to be a huwite ubermensch instead of a black is just odd.

3. It's just weird. Like there would be severe pushback from a modder making every character black or every faction leader a woman. I see no difference in doing this.

My only question that I haven't explored for: has he touched things like enemy spawns? Is it now portrayed as "nigger hordes" assaulting muh huwhite settlements or are all the bandits white too?

i think it would be interesting to have a settlement or faction that fulfills his wishes. You could even have it be more interesting with various groups or settlements that have various ethnicities congregate together. I agree that The Mechanist needs to be replaced because it does seem a bit out of place in the story to have the reveal be that they are a black woman. But Tinker Tom? C’mon, he’s fine. It's fair to call him an obsessed autist, but the same applies to artist who insist adding or removing their preferred politics in art. The same equivalent or more work was applied to put the diversity and gayness in the first place.

You don't generally (I say generally because there probably is some weirdo that made a mod which makes every character a trans black enby or something) see something so meticuluous from the other side though. A troon flag shirt, rainbow pants etc, etc. I think the only one that might be close is the one that flips all the gender roles in Mount and Blade: Warband, but I honestly couldn't tell you if that was a shitpost or not. The authors claimed to be radfems but also just came off as trying to bait people.

To reiterate he completely retcons the Fallout lore in order to do this, when there's so much you could actually do with it. Have different areas be different ethnicities, bandits be le ebil melting pot, anything to be interesting rather than DEI but in reverse. I find a lot of the diversity efforts in these games to be cringe, but thinking back through the entirety of Fallout 4 I can't really think of any that I would say were pandering. So many different games he could've done this in where it would actually make sense and he picked Fallout 4. It just comes off as petty.
