Some more posts from the 'Thanksgiving is #problematic' thread that the Nepenthe post came from. (Did she post a bunch more? Of course! Was it all long and dumb? Same answer!) I wonder if Nep's as insufferable IRL as she is on Resetera.
Turns out some people were turned off by the imperious phrasing by the OP. (The title is
A reminder: Thanksgiving is a problematic holiday, "celebrates a myth of colonialism and white proprietorship of the U.S.")

I love the phrasing these people use, where someone expressing disagreement isn't relating a different opinion, they're 'showing their ass' and 'telling on themselves'. I think people like this are probably even more harmful to their own goals than anyone who merely points out that the history of Thanksgiving (and the US overall) with regards to treatment of the native population was actually not great. If you have facts on your side but you're an asshole about it, you're probably not winning many hearts and/or minds.

If someone ever founded a Museum of Faggotry, Resetera would probably warrant its own annex. (When I say 'faggotry', I'm using it in the way people used to when I was in high school, where referring to someone as 'an extremely gay faggot' wasn't assumed to be saying anything about their sexual orientation.)

Now why would Resetera be full of people who aren't spending time with their family on Thanksgiving?
