I'm not sure what causes that Pooner psysiognomy.
Gruffin was a particular extreme example of it, looked almost like Benjamin Button I think it is, like that disease that causes a person to age in reverse, like an old baby.
I know what you mean by Down Syndrome, its not quite that, but its a particularly off putting and uncanny valley look, derpy is a perfect term for it, Gruffin in particular looked fucking horrendous especially in the last year before she died, chin like Leafy, bloated (likely from her kidneys shutting down) balding, and just sick looking, but a lot of Poons seem to have that look to varying degrees.

Yeah, I really don't get it. She's got a butch portrait series that seems to be (*at first) a classically feminist piece of work. That last one stands out to me, because she's admitting it's a fetish in the most sensitive, tenderqueer language ever. Replace "transmasc" with "fat" and she sounds like every other fatty destroying herself for a fetish.

The written quotes themselves seem to have originated from 'A Decaying Life: Record of 83 Days of Radiation Exposure Treatment' which itself is the written form of the original NHK report of the incident. Ouchi's quotes about his discomfort were made at the fourth day of treatment, after which he was artificially sedated so he thankfully wasn't conscious throughout most of the treatment. The English article seems to sensationalize the progression of his condition, since the skin transplants occurred three weeks after exposure, and his eyes started leaking blood on the 27th day since the incident, rather than immediately after hospitalization as the English article suggests.
I found a blogpost which has screenshots of the original broadcast and his body after his skin started peeling but it's awful and NSFL.

Irish is the closest to being an oppressed minority you can get as a pasty white person and is a fairly common ethnic background to have across the west so they can easily claim it without being accused of appropriation and use it as an excuse to pick a funky trendy name. It's especially trendy among the sort of people who geek out over mythology and witchcraft, so naturally pooners are going to flock to it, and Aiden has that softboi sound they all go for - the overall trend is towards younger sounding names with no harsh sounds (Aiden, Ash, Jasper, Theo etc), which is why you almost never see a pooner Robert or Carl.

I don't know what it is with roller derby being the sport of choice for leftist women in particular... and the fact they at least  used to take on nicknames involving their vaginas/how angry they are though I suspect lately that's been taken over by "queer" stuff. I think Phil ADF even had a roller derby LARP for a while. Granted it is only an acting role in this girl's case but point still stands.
