the world is better off without health insurance companies in it.
Getting basic medical care, or a simple procedure by a doctor, has been turned into a massive shell game of financialization and legal liability where nobody knows what anything actually costs, and the goal is to extract as much money as possible out of all parties involved while providing as little service as possible. Lawyers, the government, and insurance have made it this way. None of these groups actually provide any real good or service (medical or not), they just gate keep a system erected for their own benefit, while distorting and fucking up a service market for everyone.

Honestly I think a lot of the push back of "killing a ceo is bad" people in this thread is....because they aren't American and sincerely can't understand dying because a insurance company you pay money too won't give you coverage.

I won't say it's uniquely American experience. But it is a very, very strange concept for most none Americans to wrap their heads around.

Oh, if you're really dying surely a doctor will just treat you. A doctor won't really let you just die because of money. Like, they will treat you and then fuss about the money later. If you just push hard enough a doctor isn't just going to let you die.

Yes..... yes they will. It's that horrific.

My none American friends it is that bad and it use to be even worse.

And to make it worse. You PAY them to let you die or suffer.

That can be the only reason anybody would white knight for the this dude (the CEO)

Give me clocks if this was asked and answered already:

Why does it matter if they have his DNA? Unless he's already been to prison for murder or rape, that DNA is useless. Are they announcing that to the public in hopes that it makes our hero nervous enough to slip up and got caught?

If I were to guess, he's probably laying low in South East Asia or South America by now.

Sorry but they aren't entitled to pay for everything. Health insurance is a business they didn't say they wouldn't provide surgeries or care they just said they won't pay for some of it. Nobody is stopping these people from getting their care.
So are drug cartels. Just because something is a business doesn't make it moral or legal.
And a simple counter argument is that insurance is mandatory and even if it wasn't the people who payed for the insurance now have less capital to pay for their health. While at the same time the health insurance company has a large amount of capital, acquired from all their customers to drive up the cost of healthcare and further incentivize the apparent market value of their service.
Pyramid schemes and Ponzi schemes are also businesses by the way, so are monopolies.

sure, but I still make 10x more than the average euro poor

have fun on your pittance of an income subsidizing Muhammed Abdul and his 15 retarded incest children
You waddle in your own filth and think you are superior to Europeans.
Your living standards are worse than Romanian ones and everything you earn will get burned up the moment you fall ill.
You don't even have vacation or sick days.
Your medication costs x10 as much and your food is filled with poison.

in Europe they don't deny you care directly but they simply make you wait long enough that you die before treatment

in canada too.

scarcity cannot be magically solved by wishing it away. the solution is to reduce the fuckin demand for healthcare i.e. make ozempic and finally accept that aging is aging.

the new gangsters moved from running drugs to the more lucrative corporate world

How healthcare CEOs are feeling right now:

And that's a good thing!

I think about all the times my diabetic little sister was dropped from her insurance for no reason and we had to beg strangers for unused supplies, spend entire family paychecks on a small fraction of what she needed, and fight so goddamn hard with the insurance company to tell them that she will always be diabetic and ALWAYS need insulin.
I am not taking the side of insurance companies, but you can't insure a lifelong, known medical condition. Insurance is to protect against potential future risks, not known quantities. If someone hits your car and you go around looking to get insurance on it afterwards, no one is going to accept that. Your sister needs a public option, which is just as dysfunctional as private healthcare in America.

Imagine defending a soulless predator that wouldn't hesitate to deny you basic coverage and have you die in your own sick filth so he can save $0.21
Couldn't be me
Reminds me of Null's MATI rant about major corporations/executives and how you should think of them, especially if you work for one. After knowing some inner workings of some, and seeing what they did during COVID, I could not have agree more with his take.

I'm sorry, I don't speak poor

SMH we need to make it clear europe's the US's bitch. Maybe dissolve NATO, have fun in your decadence

We can always restore broken monuments and shelter the interesting people.

Let me explain American healthcare.

A few years back, I made some incredibly terrible personal decisions (ie, trusting non‐white people). These decisions led to me living in a McDonald's parking lot for a bit. During this time, I met the guy who parked next to me every night. He had been a higher up with the local Comcast branch until he got on drugs really bad, fucked his life up, got clean, and became my neighbor. Just as he got a new job to start clawing his way back up, we had a really bad snowstorm come in. I mean, bad. He got sick as fuck and had to go to the ER. I found that out because, when I saw him later that week, he had a fuckin hole in his chest with a tube sticking out. He told me that they gave him the most basic treatment necessary, saw he didn't have insurance, and walked him right out the door. He was still so sick he couldn't show up and lost the job he just got hired for. I honestly believe he would have died had I not picked up the slack and paid for his food and meds until he recovered and found another job willing to hire him. The hospital wouldn't have given a hot shit and we both knew he wouldn't have been welcome back.

The longer he doesn't get caught the more I'm leaning towards him being political. You'd think some pushed-too-far killdozer type guy wouldn't have bothered with a serious plan for getting away with it.
The messages on the bullets indicate a high degree of planning. The kind of planning you might see from someone who has more than one target in mind. He'd definitely want to get away with it for a time if that were the case.

Having a personal and a political motive aren't mutually exclusive. The first could have easily led to the second.

While this was clearly a narrowly targetted shooting (not just any exec, but the CEO), I'm still not seeing any indication that it was done by a "hitman" (ie, a contracted killer), although I'm sure plenty of people would now be lining up to hire him to take out other corporate executives if they knew who he was and how to contact him.

sometimes like to think KF users are better than the little bluesky transsexuals who cheered on the attempted murder of your future president but I see that two extremes are the same people. It's okay when the person I don't like it almost murdered/is murdered but not the other way around.

nigga we shitpost here...it ain't even that serious

I want to add that not only health insurance companies screw with patients, but also with health providers.

You submit a claim on behalf of a patient to cover a service, the insurance to say that they cover it and they'll pay out, the service is provided and they don't pay. Not only that, but they pay very little to providers.

Assassination is third-world bullshit, best reserved for coup-eyed rivals and despots, and anyone celebrating open murder on the streets of America is a vile piece of shit.

I’m sorry to tell you this. America is most certainly a 3rd-world country.

Our elections are not free, nor fair. 99% of our elected representatives are corrupt and/or foreign/corporate proxy’s We have a unelected rogue government and Judicial system, ran by Corporate Mafia and foreign actors. We have no border. Violent crime, homelessness and drug addiction is unprecedented. Over 75% of our drinking water is toxic and carcinogenic. Our food is poison and Americans are skipping meals because we cannot afford groceries. Our air is poisoned. Our soil is poisoned. BIG Pharma has poisoned our body, our children and our livestock. We have been invaded and overtaken by substandard peoples and cultures. They tax us over seven times on every dollar we earn. And the average American citizen cannot afford healthcare, or if they can, it’s sub-par or downright unethical. Our Corporate News is carefully scripted propaganda. We live in a surveillance State. Every single one of our rights are violated daily.

Whoever this man is. I wish him a safe gateway and a life of freedom and happiness.

They can subpoena corporate DNA banks too so if he's been fool enough to send 23andme or ancestry a swab they could get him on that.

IMO it is a bit weird to see all the Americans cheering on a vigilante execution because “insurance man bad”.

Because.. that’s your system bro. Shareholders demand this guy extracted the maximum possible value for them. That’s backed up by law.
Especially if you’re a fiscal conservative - remember “greed is good”?

But I don’t see anyone criticising that, or considering whether having “the market” make profit from something that is a basic need and directly affects whether people live or die. Because oh no, muh socialism. Better vote to funnel that tax money to billionaires instead.

Hate the game not the playa, yo.
