UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot outside Hilton hotel in Midtown in targeted attack: cops - Just Part and Parcel of visiting a Big City

I’m not convinced I believe these stories. AITA.
I would imagine United has quietly turned off those AI determinations they have been using. So more claims are going to be going across human eye's and are getting rubber stamped through to not make themselves more of a target than they already are.
Temporary capitulation, is in their best interest right now.

Now the Daily Mail claim to have gotten a look inside this notebook to do list and said he was trying to plan a bombing.
The thing is, i know he mentioned this note book in his manifesto. But i never have seen a claim it was recovered. Unless i missed it. Now we have journoscum claiming to have seen it and are making claims that he was going to start the unibomber phase.

the free market will always know best.
that's what bugs me the most about this, is it's not even "this was a rich CEO who got rich on the free market"
this is the worst bastard amalgamation of socialized and privatized medicine
it's probably the single thing sold in the USA furthest from the "free market"

A guy who had Luigi as one of the founding members of his substack and exchanged emails with him and did a video call with him is gonna make an article about his thoughts on the guy. I believe "over the summer" infers he was in communication with the guy during the time period that he disappeared from family/friends.

I’m just looking at that x ray of his back. Is that taken at an angle? Or are the screws offset from the axis?

I don't recall it ever being mentioned but I am guessing it may have been in the backpack that they found in central park and they chose not to mention it - I'm not into the psyops line of conspiracy theories but they probably figured out quickly that it wasn't a manifesto and was deliberately left behind and chose to not mention it to make the shooter think his ultra intelligent notes weren't going to get shared. There's a lot of ex-police people that say he is narcissistic and feeding off the attention, so by pretending the notebook didn't exist they may have tried to make him come out and try to get attention later on.

That or they hid it so that they have something no one in the public knows about - they do stuff like this sometimes so that they can prove who knows certain "real" case details and who doesn't. So if someone emails them and claims to be the shooter and they mention the notebook then it's extremely likely for him to be legit.

Or it was just hidden somewhere in the hostel/bus or something like that.

Ackshually, my insurance company called me late last night and let me know that I’m getting approved for a gigganigga BBC pnis transplant, all covered.

Prior to this it was months of delays, referrals, and humiliating testing. But about 8 months from now I should have the pnisnof George droid. Hide your daughters hide yo wifes

I must have missed the part where sweet baby Jesus gazed up at the north star and said the free market will always know best.
And I must have missed the part where I ever defended laissez-faire free market corporatism.

Rampant market liberalism fosters a spirit of sin through greed and depravity. Vigilantism doesn't deal with the root problem there, and causes more long-term harm.

The thing is, insurance is an incredibly simple business. You can calculate the approximate amount of claims you will receive and price your insurance appropriately, the law of big numbers guarantees you a profit. Insurance companies have even made the business entirely risk free by worming their way in to government and making it so they get bailouts when something truly extraordinary happens to upset their usually steady business.

The fact that these companies aren't happy with the risk free money they get just by the fact that they have capital to begin with and have to claw every nickel and dime from their customers even when that costs them their livelihoods and their very lives is disgusting. I think it's a miracle more insurance CEOs aren't being gunned down in the street to be honest.

I have found the claim from CNN that the Daily Fail was referencing. Fuckers updated Daily Fail page with correct links to the CNN claim. Something that was missing this morning when i was reading the page and made my post. I absolutely fucking hate that site for their constant journoscum fuck ups.

They do indeed have his notebook and it did mention spitball plans to set up a bomb. But is quoted as scrubbing the idea because "could kill innocents".

Thought about using a bomb to kill the CEO.
Changed his mind because he was worried about killing innocents.

Truly the hero we need.

I've been reading more about it and not just as a result of this and it kind of feels like the retirement funds and social security situation worldwide. I'm not discounting the fact that UnitedHealth may have been a particularly evil company but life expectancy keeps climbing and rates of cancer and all sorts of illnesses keep climbing. While it appears the mortality rates of various cancers have dropped significantly there are a lot more people being born every day and a lot more of them are getting expensive illnesses.

So it seems like its going to just end up being a case of "pick your poison" where you might have to wait months to get appointments with specialists or super expensive premiums or only partial care for certain things. Don't know what the solution is. Medical costs have always been known to be super expensive in the US though (my health insurance has always specifically excluded the US and if you want it costs way more - I'm not a burger person). And medical tourism exists where instead of going into hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt you can travel overseas and get treatment for certain things (for long term treatment like cancer and many others that isn't really that viable though).

Even if I weren't an evil healthcare CEO and maybe one of the better healthcare CEOs it really isn't a job that I'd like to take right now.

Hopefully our guy Ken Klippenstein gets a hold of the notebook. I know people hate journalists around this part but Ken came through with the manifesto while all the old guard media outlets had it and were refusing to publish it. (He used to be a part of The Intercept but left so is totally an independent operator now).

It is possible though that the media do not have the notebook and have only gotten anecdotes about its contents from police officers - I have read that because this is still an active investigation and he hasn't been charge it may fuck up due process if they release stuff like this (source: some random faggot on tweeter wrote it and it had like 4 views so it must be scientific fact)
