Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Any good European animation or stop motion? Like Dunderklumpen, Flåklypa Grand Prix, Pelle Svanslös, Grodan Boll... Heh, you can tell i'm a Swede, but it should be loads of 'em that you miss. I know Germany was mostly involved when it comes to animation.

Does Russian count?

Oh i love russian movies, there used to be a youtuber that subbed old Soviet animation, i found "The Story Of Vlad" again on facebook, love that shit, any tips? There is one i would love to find again, a short animated about a guy who finds a magic card deck in prison...

Idk how the fuck to type russian shit, so there's one called....The Overcoat I think.
It's still unfinished it's been in production for 40 years, but it's the best looking stop motion movie ever made. By Yuri Norstein and his wife, look them up they've made some of the classic Russian stop motion shit.

Here's an atrocity guide video on it, this channel is peak

I loved the first one (this is the sequel) and still do, a weird thing about the English dubb is that they changed "Oh it's the bad weather so the cows don't give milk" to "It's the bloody Soviets poisoning the air!"...
Yeah, so of-the-time. No wonder my generation turned out the way it did.

Speaking of topical, here's a Christmas short from the NFB!

Also new Castlevania Nocturne trailer dropped, I'm only linking it so I can complain about it.
I hate Netflix Castlevania so much, not even because it's woke or anime-esque, just because the writing is so terrible and doesn't deserve an IP as good as Castlevania slapped on it.
Every few years or so, I try to watch Castlevania. I like the production value, animation (when it is actually animated and not a slideshow), and voice acting, but GOD. The FUCKING WRITING AND DIALOG. WHYYYYY.

Was this one followed up in the 80s with a period accurate merch plug sidekick trope and a very obvious expy of the Soviet Union?
No, I don't believe so.

Interesting this had a sequel too. It'll give me something to watch while bored on the weekends!
