Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

Panzer didn't really work all that much after the mod team started growing but he definitely did act as head tardwrangler. A no less important position, as he was ultimately the figure everyone raillied around, regardless of how competent he was.

Of course, he was a domineering leader and domineering leaders tend to leave behind weak successors. TNO was no exception, and now the mod team has nearly no leadership and has basically fractured into disparate cliques.

TNO devs love warlords so much they added warlordism to the mod team.

KR4 is too alien for me. This is the KR Russia experience I came to love. The parliament mechanic is more interesting as well, I think.
Kaiserredux wins again! But if you think about it, do you think the worlds of Kaiserreich and Kaiserredux have diverge far enough from each other to be considered very different universes from each other? Or are they still just different takes on the same idea?
 
I've been playing nuRussia as well, its been a good while since I last played KR but has it always been this slow? It took me ages just to get to 1940 (when there is actual content), if I was playing EaW I could been well into major wars with the time I've spent.
 
I know this isn't TNO related, but the thread title also mentions the HOI4 modding community at large.
I was thinking of getting HOI4 solely for the Old World Blues mod that turns the game into a proper Fallout game. My question is this: Seeing how much drama the HOI4 community gets into, has there been anything interesting coming from that dev team? I heard that they support trannies here or there, or maybe they added in tranny content, but I never hear the details. I wanna know if the devs of that mod are woke, retarded ect. that would make me reconsider trying it.

I'd say KX is like KR4 if you let a 9-year old run amok with the setting. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you - Some people are into that.

KX is stupid but that's the entire point. I love playing the 2ACW in it because it feels nostalgic, like pre 2020 hoi4 where silly shit just happened. KR is leagues better than TNO still but big mods focus too much on "realism" for what's basically a shitflinging map game, KX serves an important purpose in reminding modders to make games fun
Even in KX, the fact you can play as NYC and have Totalist Mosley-raised Roosevelt or Sinatra as leaders for a citystate that would otherwise mean nothing shows how much love they put into every corner of it.

At this point I may as well just uninstall Kaiserreich and free up space on my desktop. Even Japan in Kaiserdux is more interesting even though they have no actual content, just a slightly retweaked Natpop path that forms a coalition government under Prince Konoe Funimaro.

There are some Brotherhood Lesbians and shit in some very minor tags but it is surprisingly unwoke given the pozzedness of the Fallout community. A lot of the more VN/storyline aspect of tags is done far better than in TNO, and as long as you aren't a total fucking retard with no reading comprehension everything is literally in your control. You could swing hard one direction for most tags then suddenly elect a new guy with a focus that runs contradictory to everything you've done up till that point.

Also, their ethics on focus tree design are something to be admired. Every single focus tree for every single tag has the same design philosophy and even Paradox could learn something from it.
 
KR to me has been a pretty boring experience once you boot up KX, At that point, why even bother playing KR? (Haven't played Russian Rework, Don't plan on it)
It's content is nowhere near as plentiful as KX, and truthfully it feels like a relic of it's Era with HOI4. Like one of those mods you simply play for the Nostalgia factor rather than to actually enjoy it's content. Even with the Germany Rework, Why Bother when we know that KX is going to just release something that'll be way better? (With likely more paths etc..)
That and the fact that with Russia for example, the amount of shit that can be done is insane, Take the Russian Republic, You can Reform the USSR, Re-invite the Bolsheviks, go Anarchist etc.. Or go down different Monarchy paths with different Tsar's, Along with the other paths such as Savinkov etc..

That's just with the Republic, Not even mentioning Kolchak's State, Don-Kuban, Mongolia etc.. who can all Conquer Russia and unify it, unlocking stuff for them to do as well, There's so much re-playable stuff in it, I genuinely feel that if i want to truly enjoy KR, I'd have to scrub KX's stuff from my mind, because that's all one can compare it to, to which as expected, it would not hold up against it.

Nothing with OWB. They and EAW come up as good mod examples and good team examples with little to no drama.

The 2ACW alone has more paths than all the KR nations combined. Want to make a Technocracy or have Al Capone run the nation as a mob state after the CSA wins? Wish to restore democracy as the American Cincinnatus? Or maybe you want to make Jesus Christ himself the king of America? Anything is possible is KX with America alone. To prove my point, here's a screenshot from my last playthrough of the USA in KX.

I still believe the biggest problem with KR is their lack of creativity. I'll play devil's advocate and agree with them that Pelley's path in the AUS was ass especially when KX easily upstaged them but instead of doing something interesting like making a the NatPop path be under General Mosley they just make Huey Long that ideology from the start.
