As it would for me as well, but if I was insistent on salvaging it, the fact that replugging it eventually works means it probably just needs to have the plugs connectors onto the power board reflowed, they can crack with age and mechanical wear. Taking it apart to get in to do that is probably a huge pain in the ass though, and messing with anything that involves mains voltage is something to be wary of.

The TV I had before my current TV was a CRT. I basically held on to it until it stopped working to the point it was annoying. Hmm, that's a good question. Unfortunately, I can't really say, because I could estimate that I got it in the 90s, but I'm not sure exactly when it died. My current TV is also pretty old by now, I can't exactly remember what year it was when I replaced it. My current TV has VGA and component jacks as well as HDMI, to give you an idea of how old it is.

I also want to say what's funny about Bob's incessant tweeting speculating about Sonic lore - which he could just ask the fanbase about - is that he's essentially come to this conclusion he thinks is brilliant... which is something the fans have been annoyed with for years and already pointed out back in like 2005 namely that Shadow takes the spotlight from Knuckles. Knuckles goes from Sonic's rival to being another part of his cast, but even then not to go all Sonic autismo as I havent seen that second movie or the third but it seems Knuckles and Shadow have very distinct roles beyond their vague archetypes of villain turned hero with a dark past

Namely Knuckles is played for humor because he's from a foreign culture and that can be mined for comedy but he's also a bit stupid even back from the game lore. Whereas Shadow has his own agenda he's trying to follow and is a bit more proactive with it. Yahtzee didn't get this either but the humor of a character like Shadow isnt that he quips every few seconds but instead how Sonic interacts with him, namely that Shadow is irritated by how he doesnt take anything seriously. Whereas Knuckles isnt nearly as serious a character, he has a code but he loves fighting and he loves joking around with his friends. This has been the dynamic ever since the Adventure games
