Even ten might be a stretch for his lifetime considering he looks older than Boogie despite being younger.

I feel like the only way change could happen is if his mother dies, which depending on her health, may not happen until after Bob goes. Chris and his sister can only do so much to help Bob, they have their own families to worry about. If what he said about the mortgage is true, Bob could lose the house after mommy goes and be on his own. He likely won't have an inheritance, or much of one. The house will be sold to cover debts and the kids might get a pittance split three ways, enough to pay off a credit card but not to really do anything.

Unless Chris and Sarah let him live with them full time, which they probably will, and then he can continue trying to live his delusion that he's a great, famous, respected film critic.
