I feel like I know almost nothing about what's really happening with the Victoria/John situation because of the way Lucas filters everything through his weird personal framework of preconceived ideas that he tries to force everything and everyone to fit. Probably in reality politics has very little to do with things, we have no evidence that John is actually a "Mayga" except Lucas says he is, or that Victoria is a leftist except that Lucas expects/assumes every young woman to be one. It's just so weird how he has to twist any event in his life to fit the type of narrative he feels comfortable and righteous inhabiting: the perfect young socialist goddess for some inexplicable reason choosing the most loathsome fascist rich douchebag over the broke but honorable true leftist daddy Lucas. If that's what he construes as always happening then he always gets to be in the right, in his own head, AND the solution is very easy: all he has to do is make a YT video (or a few dozen) explaining (or screaming) why this is wrong and hypocritical, and hope Victoria or some similar example of this archetype sees it, realizes how wrong she is, and rushes to apologize and date Lucas. I mean, no girl has realized that for what, close to fifteen years now? But, ya know, maybe this time...
It's especially bizarre to see him do this to a "rival" who is also a Mallon resident though. I don't even really understand why Lucas is once again bringing up "classism" and the sexual lure of money when the guy he's raging against is demonstrably in the same economic bottom tier as Lucas. He's even supposedly toothless, although Lucas also has some falsies iirc. I'd be very surprised if Mr. Neveryoumind has those two dreaded totems of toxic wealth, a credit card and a car. I haven't watched every minute of the new videos because I've heard Lucas rant about this stuff for years and much of it is very boring to me, but does he ever claim Toothless John has money? Or explain why he's a Maygat? From what I've seen he's leaping from the real people involved to the stereotype characters in his head with basically zero justification.
I guess the reality is too humiliating to face. The guy is starting in basically the exact same position as Lucas: living in Mallon in his forties, missing a few teeth, presumably a background of chronic poverty/homelessness and some level of physical/mental health problems, as that seems to be the population Mallon serves. But he got the girl simply because of the one big advantage he does have: he's not Lucas Werner. He wasn't oozing desperation and trying to make her fit into the weird schizo script in his head of what she's supposed to be, how this is supposed to go. Presumably he interacted with her like she was a person, not an actress cast as Idealized Young Bae.
The really fucking freaky part is that Lucas is perfectly able to continue to perform in that play without other actors. Sometimes he'll be in close enough proximity to an unfortunate young woman (typically in a psych ward or homeless shelter, so doubly unfortunate) to develop a little unrequited crush like this, and actually try to force a real person to play Idealized Bae, but other times the role is empty for years and he makes video messages addressing "Spokane". Yes, he means every young attractive woman in Spokane. Yes, really.
