Warhammer 40k

There is always this slider of quality to quantity where you sacrifice one for another. Custodians are supposed to be you went 100% quality, sacrificing quantity. Guardsman being the total opposite for example. Which also applies to replenishment.

I could maaaaaybe see them as emissaries to watch over campaigns or possibly leading campaigns, but we are talking general level, not captain level.

Not to mention i vaguely recall the Emperor seeing them as more than warriors, but also artists and philosophers. Sending them to fight on the ground goes against that idea too.

Cant comment on grey knights, but dont think they have huge numbers to break the quality vs quantity slider i mentioned

Got tired of having no scythes in the Tyranid army since those are unironically badass.
No 3D printer as too technologically inept. So I made my own, actually turned out pretty well in my humble opinion. Problem is he's fucking massive now.

Also speed read the '40k isn't grimdark anymore' stuff. I dunno, in the same way everything being positive makes it boring, everything being horrific does the same. You need to have hope to have it squashed you know. If they handle the primaris and the new age stuff as the peak before another fall, it's no worry at all.

They should show up in events, like the Tragedy of Prospero, not on the tabletop -- or at least, they should be something like Imperial Agents / Assassins. The idea of an entire force of Custodes ... not sure about it.
I like that idea of making them a supplement instead of a force of their own. Lorewise I don't think it makes sense that an entire detachment of Custodes would be engaged in open warfare. From what I've seen they mostly act as agents since even one or two of them is enough to win battles. They seem to be less interested in digging trenches and more interested in the wider conflict. The range is pretty small (and old) as it is. If GW doesn't even want to support them as an independent faction why not?

My main issue with Custodes and sister is silence is that they aren’t explored enough. We know there on terra, but what are they doing besides watching them emperor. We know they stopped a genesteeler cult but what else are they doing.

Also that part of bringing drukari onto to the throne world is beyond crazy

Frankly any bit of lore that touches on Terra post Heresy is embarrassingly retarded and invariably the worst excesses of grimderp in the setting.

From the choreographed cathedral hymnal rituals sending the morbidly obese pedophile High Ecclisiarch off to to his beauty sleep every night before he fucks the latest nubile child to be delivered to him to name one of many examples from War of the Beast, to the fact the custodes are offhandedly noted to keep shit worse than the Ctan and possibly even the Chaos gods locked up under the Imperial palace, to everything and everything surrounding the High Lords (i.e. the fact they whack off over how the literal fucking raisins they eat as snacks are worth more than planets) to the very fact that Terra is apparently the most ultra heavily populated and accordingly most corrupt and degenerate hive world in the Imperium. Basically it seems every author sees the word "Terra" and decides to just shit the most extreme sounding idiocy they can throw in to the setting just to make it sound more "grimdarker" or to create some hamfisted allegory for the imperium as a whole.

If anything it should be a virtual ghost world apart from the High Lords, the Ecclisiarchy, and the Custodes/Imperial Palace Functionaries with the Inquisition being ultra fanatical in screening even the most decorated and vouched for Imperial bignigs to even consider letting them share a planet with the Emprah, rather than just letting any dumb nigger waltz in to join the quadrillions of potential cultist/genestealer/heretic fodder who exist solely to make guarding the Emperor a billion times more difficult.

I can understand it being the most heavily populated. But it being most degenerate makes little sense. Corrupt makes sense but if it’s that degenerate than that’s the arbities, custodes, and military’s fault.

In the old pre HH Abnett Grammaticaloo times, Terra was described in the Space wolf book as thus:

A hyper developed hive world covered in armoured towers, super high security, somewhat well off locals. Navigator houses had a walled off enclave atop of what was Straya.

In HH the whole Imperial Palace is a tiny fucking acrology on top of the Himalayas, the rest is a wasteland. That's where the shit started.

See this is how Terra should be described. As a heavily fortified hive world that allows few in. It would be more grimdark or just better story wise if closest the religious pilgrims could get to terra was Pluto. Just imagine your a religious pilgrim whose spent how much time and money getting to what equates to their holiest site and being told the closest you can come is Pluto.

Yeah, because hive worlds aren't known for their bombed-out lower levels filled with mutants and worse or anything, and Terra is no exception.

And in those same books they wind up descending to the lower levels and shit's fucked because surprise, Terra is a hive world.

Having 2 officers in the party breaks the game so much I love it. You’re practically just handing out so much free turns and with Argenta she’s practically soloing the whole time.

I just love the idea of the MC and Cassia screaming orders to the actual workhorses and that’s their contribution to the actual battle.

The shitposting for this game is gold, reminds me of prime-era Mass Effect shitposting

let me add to what I originally meant. I’m saying that if under the eyes of every organization on the holiest/ most important planet where fanatics are at their highest and security doesn’t mess around. I wouldn’t even shit without permission.

Articles like this are a prime example of why culture war grifters deserve the rope right next to the exact people they're whining about. Literally neither of the two stores in the article mention wokeness at all. One just says they're pulling out of Warhammer/GW and the other explicitly links it to getting the run around regarding his stock orders and decides it's not worth it.

>starts off talking about femstodes, the sargon of akkad, etc stuff
>one store is not selling GW models, but still selling paint
>the other cant get their shipments on time
You fucking feral baboons are the reason the actual criticisms for the direction GW is taking are treated like jokes. Its got the same airs as the feds lumping flat earthers in with the people that called out MK Ultra, its so egregiously obvious.

Neck rope and fuck off, tourist.

No it’s not the gouging, inability to meet orders or forcing stores to carry crap (Kroot) that nobody wants, it’s the “woke” shit.

Fuck off.
The FLGS when I was in high school once told me that to replace the Hive Tyrant I was buying, he'd have to buy $250 worth of random GW shit, because GW wouldn't just send him a Hive Tyrant. And that was decades ago, $250 wasn't a small order.

The FLGS I go to now has an ungodly small amount of space -- maybe 200 square feet for the entire store. And an entire wall is dedicated to GW products because GW forces him to do that if he wants a partner account with them. This includes a 6 foot tall wireframe display rack of Citadel paint, many of the pots of which are ruined because it's hard to shift some of the paint.

Every army of the week he has to fully stock, even if it never shifts, for example. And don't get him started on Codexes, they're completely useless after a certain point and he can't get a refund or anything, but has to carry all of them.

GW's business practices are downright toxic.
