Funny you say that, I watched a documentary called The Real Sopranos which talked about the DeCavalcante family, the real life New Jersey mob, and what they did while the show was running. What I can conclude is that DSP is gay and retarded enough to become the boss of the whole thing.

Another funny thing that specifically reminds me of this year's KANG arc is that while in the show the Jersey mob was treated like a joke, they were still infinitely more badass than the real life Jersey mob, so much so that the show inadvertently crippled the real life Jersey mob. What happened is that the mobsters got gassed up watching the show and thought they were as badass and as untouchable as Tony and the gang and went on to make a number of increasingly short-sighted and extremely stupid decisions. Like robbing a bank while not wearing anything that'd conceal their faces. These stupid decisions ended up getting everyone flipped or behind bars. This is all corroborated by secret FBI recordings where the mobsters talked about watching the show and in some of them they even do the equivalent of "he is just like me! fr fr!"

It wasn't so much crashing the car, if I remember right, as it was him going on the highway. DSP led an extremely sheltered and overpotected life as his parents only child (Until they took in Melissa) and so experienced both the gross amount of spoiling he got as a kid with all the toys he got (This guy bragged about having every game console in the 90s) and the creepy helicopter parenting/coddling that comes with it. Part of the reason he probably moved to Washington was to get as far from his parents as possible.

A lot of it seems to have come from Linda as well. My pet theory is that Dave fucking hates his son, but my only real proof of that is DSP rarely talking about his dad when his parents come up in conversations with his viewers, and the fact that Dave just sent him pictures of the fish and shit during his fake crisis with the car tire.

Not even a week ago he went on an insane Anime Villain Origin Story rant about how he could've literally saved the world if it weren't for those damn dirty trolls, what do you think? He's always had those delusions of grandeur of being this unsung hero who saves any website he's on.

He could have saved the helicopter company from bankruptcy even though he was only a HR nepo hire. Every company or organization that parts with him he could have saved either because of his raw talent and abilities, or the massive clout his name would bring them.

I have to wonder how much of Phil's Tough Guy persona in the late 90s/early 2000s emerged as a result of watching The Sopranos and taking surface level takes of how badass these authentic Italians are. WWE Wrestling promos played a big roll in how he acted online and at the FGC, sure, but I am positive that The Sopranos also made him LARP as a tough guy because it is what Italians do dood!

This is the thing I find most fascinating about Phil.
With most lolcows, it's pretty obvious why they are they way they are when you look at their upbringings/early lives: generally, they tend to come from broken/fundamentally messed up homes, be born with serious mental/physical abnormalities, and/or grow up under enabler parents who never properly disciplined them, but this doesn't seem to be the case with Phil. He grew up in your typical middle-class suburban household, and while his parents probably spoiled him a bit as a kid they didn't seem to be Bossmanjack-tier enablers; they were willing to punish him when he crashed his car, so it's not as if they were letting him run hog wild doing whatever he wanted without consequence.
Which just begs the question of how exactly Phil got to be such a massive egotistical asshole. It's true that some people are just born-dicks, but Phil is extreme even by born-dick standards, and he seems to have been that way right out of the gate. You go back 20 years to tophaters.com and Evo and Phil is exactly the same obnoxious jackass he is today, snorts and all. Hell even as far back as age 13, with the Wolverine story, the guy was an entitled prick.

Do we have any lore on Phil's upbringing that hasn't come from Phil himself? As funny as the classic Wolverine toy story is, he could have pulled that out of thin air for all anyone knows. Remember, he thought that story made him look good and his parents look dumb until people started making fun of him. Same as when he brags about having every popular toy growing up, he might genuinely think it's a flex. Like someone said earlier, dude lives to lie.

I'm not saying none of it's true, of course, I'm just saying unless Phil's cousin decides to come out and drop a load of lore we don't really know anything about his life before the early 00s when he started interacting with FGC members.

If someone tells you for 20 years he was spoiled and had everything besides friends as a kid and every single person who ever personally interacted with him post childhood outside of wagie work settings says yes that's true and all have public falling outs with him you don't need to overthink it.

There is no lore to drop he has said consistently for 20 years he was a loner with no friends. Everyone had 10 of these people in every class and no one remembers them. There exists 4 people who could give childhood DSP lore at most and they never will.

Agreed but what you're stating is an assumption (which is pretty accurate IMHO). The original question was specifically about lore.

You can assume lots of things about people but there are no photos or 3rd person accounts of DSP's early (pre-FGC) life.
I doubt anything would come up which is that surprising but it would still be interesting to hear.

I think the one thing that you can say about Phil, pre-FGC, is that the last 20 years should show you that anything you think of him now was likely true in his past. He has nobody in the last 20 years that has ever come forward to push back on any claims, any negativity, just even to lie to people to defend their friend.

If that isn't telling about how Phil was, pre-FGC, I don't know what else would be.

Not to mention, he's an only child from a upper middle class background. I think it's likely that he was a spoiled brat his whole life until a point, then he was on his own with no life skills.
