Mike David / Red Bar Radio / Jules Felker David - "Where we at with Red Bar?"

Mike ceding more producer powers to Jules has made her quite annoying. Multiple instances in this latest episode. The part with Tony's special where she first begged Mike to watch the whole thing, only to pivot once the inevitable burn out of momentum into saying the chat and the viewers wanted the whole thing and she always tries to explain it never works. Stealing redbars essence like Rogue. For 13 hours I am tepid in approving the quality of content, compared to how hard they both carry on about being the best.
As much as Jules sucks sometimes and ruins the show, there probably (almost definitely) wouldn't be a show anymore without her. I've pretty much stopped watching new Redbar but I'd rather it exist than not.

I haven’t listened to any of the show past a few episodes in 2013 when it became too focused on chat and endlessly rewinding clips.

Mike has barely been outside in the last 10-15 years. He has no friends and no social life whatsoever and is obsessed with internet shit practically no one cares about like the “real meaning” behind Instagram comments D list comedians make.

He’s literally the same as any pasty pathetic video game nerd with a slightly different hobby and his lack of social awareness or meaningful interaction with other human beings has been evident for a long time.

Didn’t he even recently cut off ties with his parents and brother for an idiotic mike reason like “being nice to your dad is gay” or “caring about a man’s marriage is gay?” He really has lost it and the few dozen fans he has to paypig him are just enablers. He might as well be a twitch streamer femoid

Mike's illiterate and understands that by doing show prep it hinders his ability to be funny, Jules has been doing most of the work since 2016, and you can tell in 2015 when mike did the show prep vs jules. You want to see what happens when its just Mike, listen to 2014. its a slog. he's overreliant on friends and spins his wheels trying to make something out of nothing and its mostly him on uppers saying nonsense. its garbage. Cam and Sven blatantly don't care about the show and somehow can pull off better bits than Mike does when its the only thing in his life.

then you straight up haven't listened to redbar. even Mike said in S13, everything before then was just a practice run, like judging Mike Jordan on his pre-NBA basketball years. You're literally the equivalent of a guy who just arrived from 2012 trying to talk about Trump or Jimmy Kimmel or podcasting or anything else. you're a fucking fool.

Also Mike pretty much stopped hating his parents once he hit 30. you really should relisten because he's all but admitted his parents were wonderful compared to how bad he was. even your remarks on internet friends is fucking absurd when every single one of mike's girlfriends and friends since he was an adult came from the internet and dating online isn't seen the same way it was back in the pre-okcupid days you boomer.

Like imagine thinking Jules isn't the best thing that has happened to both the show and Mike

I think the show was great! Looking forward to the next one. Love that Jules and her contributions!

Don’t know why I can’t quote that guy but I clearly remember a clip from when Mike’s Brother Dan David got married (which was after 2013) and Mike went off on a rant about refusing his invitation to the wedding because caring about your male sibling was gay, marriage was gay or family was gay or some other moronic reason and pretty much ruined a big portion of relationship with his family because of a bit for his Facebook fans

Really? I don't remember that, are you thinking of his "Brian barris didn't invite me to his wedding" rant.

Mike despite how he acts in can is super introverted, and can't handle parties or large gatherings. Like if it's more than 5 people, he goes nuts. That's why he stopped doing live shows. He didn't realize how bad he is at being around people.

That's part of why he never went out much even before he became crippled or pre-take over. Also his parents were poor so his dad really drilled into him the idea that spending money at all is fucking gay as is the pageantry of weddings. If anything his dad didn't realize how much his teachings got through to Mike.

All the order and procedure and crying best man speeches and other sincere stuff is gay to Mike because his dad said it was all gay.

So unless mikes parents suddenly did a 180 on it like they did with weed I think you're wrong.

Like this isn't even some Facebook but, Mike was saying this in 2007 and had to be forced to attend his Grandma's funeral and had to dissociate like "oh I only attended for the great coffee there" because he didn't want to cry or show emotion (because his dad said crying at funerals is for the gays) but hes been anti wedding for about 20 years now. His parents really shouldnt have told him weddings are faggy and that showing emotions are faggy if they didn't want him to hate weddings so much.

Mike and Jules got married at City Hall because of it, and while they didn't have a wedding Jules has probably been to numerous concerts and doesn't have to work more than twice a month and gets to play video games all day. So it probably evens out.

If you highlight the post that you're trying to quote a thing will pop up (even on mobile) that lets you hit reply and it'll quote it. I think it doesn't let you do the normal quote when a post is longer than a certain amount of characters.

Mike's parents were poor but sent him to the costly boarding school? Or are you saying they grew up poor?

It's called loans and saving. His parents didn't pay for college for either kid but they did get to go to trade school.

You'd be surprised how much money you can save if you never go on vacation, are straight edge, and never go out to eat.

Also "boarding school" is a Jew lie. It's basically private juvie. That the parents are ashamed to have spent money on but it did do exactly what it was meant to be reforming Mike.

If you ever been in these situations or listened to anyone that has the schools usually partner with these places and have a loan program set up so poorer more naive parents that would not have the money to sue sign their kids up for it. You'd be surprised how lower class most of these kids really are.

Basically both Mikes parents were like the white sheep of their families and decided they preferred to be poor over being rich dickheads, like Mike's uncle who lived with the parents was a lot closer to a typical Jew than daddy David was.

He had an important media job but ultimately spent most of his money on vices. Mikes paternal grandparents spend their money on their 3 pack a day habits, soda, and candy

I thought Uncle Ryan was supposed to be a cool normal guy and not a rich dickhead. He was the guy Mike supposedly turned to after his unpublished romance prison escape novela of stolen elan school forum stories but he couldn’t help him bc of his loyalty to Mike’s dad

I was there too :) I remember it. It was more specifically about thinking marriage and society's holidays and celebrations and rules were gay. He was very against marriage too in that rant but as we can see he went back on that. He seems more chill about all of that now. He seems to have a pretty normal relationship with his family from what I can tell in the new episodes. Like even back then though the whole "oh dad you gotta stop eating all these fucking doritos!!" I think is pretty normal for anyone. Like you want them not to die and they don't care and think you're annoying and you think theyre annoying but you want them to live longer. And also he's hamming everything up for the camera too...

Ive been listening to the Melton Watch, and some early S16 stuff. I think Mike is more performative now, but I dont think the essence of the show has changed much over the last 6 years. At some point Ill probably listen to shows from that era and compare, should be interesting.

Personally, I love the really long episodes we have now, and without someone feeding him timestamps and pushing him to begin or end segments, I think the show would have to be much shorter. Its kind of crazy that he is able to do an enjoyable, (to my tastes) 13 hour show.

you know more than me, i thought his uncle fucking died a bit after grandma did in like 2011/2013. I'm entirely going off of what i remember from the episodes and he never said his uncles name on those, but it does creepily fit that his uncle was named Ryan.

while Mike did get married i think thats entirely because of the whole citizenship thing with Jules, and it was a quick city hall thing, which doesn't make sense when his family is so close by.

the biggest change from S13 era to now is Mike isn't broke and has fans and has people hyping him up in the mainstream, so he can burn a couple hours gloating about that. plus having a partner that will help you set up karaoke and breaks. the biggest change is how rarely he fucking sang 6 years ago compared to now. plus way more breaks.
ts kind of crazy that he is able to do an enjoyable, (to my tastes) 13 hour show
you don't add up all the breaks, do that and you'll see how shit he really is. he takes way too much time catching up with stories of his life off the show too, he talked more about his personal life in the last 50 episodes than he did in the 500 before them. he takes way too much time to get to his actual segments and understands that most of his new fans basically think hours=good content.

not that he ever cared too much about going "long" but because of some limitations in the mid-2010s with his equipment forcing 2-4 hour chunks and previous goal of 2 hr episodes in the late 2000s he had to get better at time management and meant he would hate himself when he would drunkenly spent 8 hours begging people to call him like he did in 2012, and put it out as an episode

now he's too wealthy and has too much fame and too many fans to care, its like 2010 redbar all over again, he stops caring about putting out quality episodes and just goes through the motions, except you can't see it as much now because Jules does all the show prep.

Also its obvious he's toned the show down from what it used to be, the Tim Hediecker stuff is obnoxious as is the robin tran stuff and just going "i hated trannies but now i'm not an incel" and he backed away hard from the whole "we're the edgy show no one else will give you" and because of how long it takes between episodes something like a Melton Watch is impossible to do now because you have at least a dozen other people reporting this stuff better. Look at his Nick Rekieta stuff as an example, like why would you watch Redbar for Schuab or Logan Paul content when you have way better more entertaining people doing it. Mike also used to have streams where he'd draw but now @svenstoffels and others are doing that better than he ever could.

Mike's spark or drive isn't really there compared to when he was going after say TommyNC or Chris D'elia when no one else would.

the live show is shit this episode. Honestly you can tell Mike is trying to do the show less and less. he averaged a show every 2 weeks last year at least, meaning you could at least justify buying a sub to listen to get that one private one every month, but in 2024 he did one show every 3 weeks, and with him continuing the free and scars episode format, you're basically paying $11 a month when he doesn't even do a private show that month and the best parts get fucking clipped anyway. its insane.

no wonder people think Mike and Jules had a kid, if you're only doing a show every 3 weeks why not raise a family, how hard would it be to get a sitter one day every 3 weeks, or one every 2 honestly. this guy in the 2010s knocked out about 2 episodes a week, in 2020 he shifted to 1 episode a week, since he came back its an episode every other week. now in 2024 its one episode every 3. no wonder his newest fans assume he's like in his 70s and dying.
