I think the claim of “a country of immigrants” is not that off because for over a hundred years America has received literal hordes of immigrants. The big difference is that the people that came here didn’t do so because they heard about gibs. Like The Dude famously said about today’s Chinamen: “These are not the guys who built the fucking railroads.”

Most of them did. Wages in the US were very high by global standards since the 1700s, and opportunity to make money was second to none. Very few immigrants actually struck out into the wilderness after the early 1800s besides some groups of Germans and Norwegians/Swedes. Every other group stayed in cities or industrial towns.

Yes, white people owning capital is a good thing. There is nothing wrong with owning a gas station, unless you're a communist who thinks they should all be replaced by EVs/be illegal. It’s all PoS based now but I was making an allusion to the stereotypical duties of a gas station attendant. The job of coal miner isn't one many would want. It's brutal work and the potential side effects of being in that line of work are well known. At the very least in a hypothetical situation where the United States reduced its amount of immigration, companies would have to react to having a smaller potential pool of workers rather then an expendable work force and any paths to get out of that industry wouldn't be filled with foreigners (or as many anyway) fighting for the same jobs as the natives.
