This is one of the most important 4th wall breaking rules - "Never assume something negative about the consumer". You can call out fanbases, you can even playfully hint of a less than moral reason why the player sticks to the media, but when you call out the player for something, even if it will be true for the majority, whoever doesn't fit the category is going to be pissed and probably the people who fit it as well.

In that case the player deliberately chose that ending despite multiple chances to not do so. I don't think it's the same thing.

No it's bad, it has a big lore reveals and tough boss battles so you'd be missing out if you skip it but the game will moralfag you for seeing its content.
While it's bad, it still fits what Markass said. You do have to go out of your way to get Genocide, and there's a few things meant to make it an absolute pain to get and wind up into the normal ending out of frustration.
It's one hour, which isn't even that long compared to both new and old RPG bullshit. Definitely more fun that doing a lesbian date to hook up two psychopaths.
