Dsp cannot function by himself anymore and needs help for even the dumbest most simple things. I can only imagine how he goes during the day offs where he "does" things outside. Wouldnt surprise me if he doesnt buy groceries and just pays to be delivered when he is perfectly able to make the trip. At this point with tech has advanced and you have the way to have people bring stuff directly to you. Wouldnt surprise me if he barely leaves the house on his day offs. Wants to eat? Have uber/doordash. Wants groceries? Just have them bring it to you. You guys get the drill, the only real thing he needs to go out for is for medical stuff or car mantainance(company has to remind him to change the oil)

I actually disagree that he has groceries delivered for a few reasons:
1) Phil feels like it's a big adult accomplishment for him to buy groceries and pet food, or get a haircut, or go to the dump. You know, things all people fit into their daily lives.
2) Instacart and other services can be useful but they sometimes give you the wrong thing, or replace an item with something. Phil complains at length about literally everything. If he was using Instacart or something similar, he'd be whining about the "book smart" delivery person messing up his order, and he's never said anything like that. (Unlike with DoorDash or Amazon, which he whines about all the time.)
3) It's a big event when anyone comes to the door. Kat has to be warned so she doesn't panic, Phil has to run downstairs to be sure he's the one who answers the door, etc. If a week's worth of groceries arrived, he'd practically have a panic attack.
4) Buying the groceries at the store means less time he has to spend with Kat just staring at each other blankly.

If I remember, at one point Phil said that he thought his grocery store stopped carrying his gout cherry juice because they removed it from the end-cap display, and he didn't know they still had it for like a month until he randomly saw it on the shelf.

I, unfortunately, have a narc in my immediate family so I can tell you this is pretty common narc behavior. Their ego will just not allow them to ever be at fault and these excuses are more for them then for anyone else listening. Spot on. We spent MONTHS hearing him talk about burger king because the top of the bun slid off the patty during transport. The first time instacart gave him blackberry flavored gout-a-cola we would get a quick excuse how this is the first time hes ever used them then 20 hours of whining.
