If we're being honest here then GO has gotten shittier and shittier in recent years (Mostly due to Niantic being a geolocation company rather than a gaming company and hating that a licensed game is more popular than its homemade games).Thinking of getting back into Pokémon Go.
The recent events have also been a mixed bag, some being good and others being kind of shitty.
- The Holiday events were kind of mediocre. Part One had a costumed Dedenne appear in hard-to-find one-star raids, a hard-to-find Field Research task with six different possible encounters, and your Daily Adventure Incense and Shiny Sandyghast while Part Two swaps them out with a costumed Wooloo (that was available as a wild encounter) and Shiny Cetoddle.
- December's Community Day was a somewhat decent but that's expected of a 11-plus-4 Pokémon event, the timed research was interesting but ultimately pointless. It also cut into the Holiday event meaning that people couldn't hunt that event's featured Pokémon for 2 days.
- The New Year's event didn't feature any new costumed Pokémon but brought back a bunch of older ones. Weirdly enough it was really easy to find their Shiny versions in the wild compared to past years.
- Sprigatito Community Day was kind of shitty. The free event was okay (even with Frenzy Plant Meowscarada is shitty in GO) but Niantic doubled the price of the paid ticket and cut out some of said tickets Pokémon encouters
- The current event features the introduction of Fidough and spotlights dog-themed Pokémon.
