The only thing I dislike about stickers and reactions is that they can encourage circlejerk behavior. I know at least one "community watch" community that gets a pass for sociopathic behavior that would be harshly criticized otherwise, and at least two internet-famous people who are defended in their own threads by the vast majority because they have the right opinions, despite also being questionable themselves.

I don't want to name them, I don't want to waste time debating it with their fans' rage, because some people don't understand that you can agree with someone and still critique them. But the site does have some sacred cow people and communities that you can't criticize without getting downvoted to oblivion.

That being said, I do think they do more good than harm because they encourage quality discussion and punish people who want this place to be 4chan 2.0.

:story: Stickers aren't a punishment lmao
I used the word "punish "in a casual sense. I don't mean it literally. "Punish" like a videogame does when you are forced to restart a level. Maybe "discourage" would be more accurate? The current system does encourage quality posts.

Do not ever bother me about this issue again.

That's not even a punishment either! That's called "you fucking died try again". Anyways I'm not gonna use them to gameify shit that's gay.

They say once black, you cannot go/be back.
However, there is also a song title "back in black" that constantly talks about how the black is back.
Within the black, there is back waiting to go.

You do you.

I was just pointing out I meant it in a different context to the one you assumed. Incentive vs punishment (discouraging a behavior trough a reward system like a game). Not that negative stickers are punishment.

Reddit nigger type post, will not even rate you. You will NEVER complete the puzzle.

I remember my least favorite thing about the time we had sticker notifications: nobody fucking sees moderation notifications. I send people alerts and then I get DMs and TTS threads like "huh?? why???" like gee nigger if only you had seen the important notification instead of 200 fucking alerts about your gay posts.

It's like finding a bill in your pile of junk mail you took in from your letter box and left for later reading/sorting. Six weeks after payment was due.

I have never liked sticker notifications. Back when I was a newfag they were enabled by defaulted and I hated them cluttering up my notifications and making thread updates harder to find through that window. Then they randomly turned off and it was a blessing.

Nah, if they're too retarded to turn it off, then they deserve to get blindsided and blink stupidly before screeching when things like that happen.

I don't have this problem because I check my notifs every 10 minutes

There's no way to sort notifications by either admin or user priority, to force moderation notifications to the top? That would be useful for both mods/admins, and users. Imagine being able to de-prioritize notifications from the furry ERP DM chain you keep getting added to in favor of your favorite thread, meanwhile, notification from a mod that you've been caught a week ban from a thread for being a colossal faggot would always at the top.

Thank you Ooperator for restoring the functionality. But I have to admit that when you removed the sticker notifications earlier last year it made a positive change in how I use the site. I turned off the reaction notifications shortly after they were restored because I found that using the reactions received page to be a good middle ground for how I wanted to use the site.

What does the dislike button even do? Does anyone non-ironically use it? Has anyone actually EVER used it for any purpose? Last time someone reacted to my posts with it it was very clearly a new user that hadn't even gotten accustomed to the forums yet. Might as well just delete it.
I use it when I dislike things. Simple as.
